"The federal government is classifying the deaths of patients infected with the coronavirus as COVID-19 deaths, regardless of any underlying health issues that could have contributed to the loss of someone’s life."

"I felt like they were saying you don't have to have a laboratory test for covid-19 in order to make the death certificate be covid-19"
I would like to see the actual document he is talking about. From my understanding, he's referring to this guidance from the CDC:

*As of April 14, 2020, CDC case counts and death counts include both confirmed and probable cases and deaths. This change was made to reflect an interim COVID-19 position statement issued by the Council for State and Territorial Epidemiologists on April 5, 2020. The position statement included a case definition and made COVID-19 a nationally notifiable disease.

A confirmed case or death is defined by meeting confirmatory laboratory evidence for COVID-19. A probable case or death is defined by i) meeting clinical criteria AND epidemiologic evidence with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID-19; or ii) meeting presumptive laboratory evidence AND either clinical criteria OR epidemiologic evidence; or iii) meeting vital records criteria with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID19.

I was waiting to see how long it took someone to mention the misspelling. Lol.

The maddening part is the gross lack of information. It is nearly impossible to set policy or make decisions, from a personal, scientific or political standpoint.

Currently so many people are latching onto a study that claims a possibility for 50-85% of a population exhibiting antibodies for Covid-19, without methodology, accuracy being verified. The serological antibody tests are important, but there has to be some verifiable results rather than calling in 2000 people on Facebook that likely thought they had had it, finding a large portion did and immediately extrapolating we are ready to send the kids to Six Flags with the grandparents.

People latch on to anything that boosts their pre-existing opinions. In addition to this study, there are lots of doctors and scientists in the world; you can dig up someone with credentials, claiming almost anything.

The consensus may be wrong and the outliers right, of course, but when someone cites one of the latter, I wonder why they choose to believe this one authority here, and not those thousands of authorities there.

Lots of just the flu bros love to frolf. I will be looking for new friends after this is over. Idiots.

Disagree with Jay Dub. I’m in Ohio. Tons of just the flu idiot bros live here.

Jay Dub 04-19-2020 05:08 PM

I never said there weren't any covidiots here, just that Ohio is doing relatively well, the guide lines have been set and in my area it's working for the most part.

We came up with a new golf game. We are our own dbls partner, 2 throws each. 1st throw into C1 is your CTP. The person with the best CTP wins the hole.

And I don't play with idiots. One person that was normally in our group each weekend I have not contacted since this started because I just can't trust him to do the right thing. The other 2 are good, sensible people.

Sounds good Jay. Lots of dummies in the Cleveland area. My circle is getting smaller. Stay safe.
