ive played so many crappy 9 hole city park model courses in small towns quantity vs quality crowded courses can suck to play so be careful what you wish for |
I'd like to think ultimately it would lead to more quality courses too. We have way, way, way more quality courses now than we did a quarter century ago. And to alleviate crowded courses, you need more of them. People from my area who are my age can remember Brewer Park being unplayable after 12:00 noon due to the groups of 14 carrying an Eclipse in one hand and a liquor bottle cocooned in a paper bag with the other hand. It was one of three courses in a county with 750,000 or so.
I drool at the thought of private courses becoming economically viable and widespread. Critical mass for this is probably closer than we realize! |
There's a new small 9-holer near me just put in a month ago. It's fabulous for my 10-year-old. We've gotta have these kinds of courses too so the next generation of serious player can get started.

TL;DR: from my experience more popularity = a better time for disc golfers |

Actually make that >90 in a 50 mi radius per the DGCR database. That's insane

EDIT: I find Brodie unbearable - hopefully he learns some etiquette as he is playing PDGA events... |
I'm curious how seriously he's taking this too. I can't imagine he's planning an MPO career and suspect his YouTube business is the reason for this.
At the same time, I suspect he'll be a low level MPO player without all that much work if he desires, and certainly could hit 1000 rated with some time commitment. I'll bet he can hit the 400' mark both forehand and backhand within a month of starting to work with disc golf discs. He's got some decent form already though it needs some DG tweaking. |
Brodie could really bring some attention to disc golf if he did videos with celebrity casuals who play. Stay in his lane, so to speak.
