The special blend S-Line of the Cloudbreaker 3 is different from the Nordic Phenom / Grand. I don’t remember where, but I heard the L64 new machines take new molds and that’s what the new discs (Royal line and rerelease Escape) take entirely new molds. (Like they can’t take a Defender mold from an old machine and use it on a new machine.) When DM said all the new creator series will now be entirely separate molds, it makes me think they bought some of these new machines too. On the other machines they used their own blend for Cloudbreaker3?
Begin speculating with little evidence:
Discmania said they bought their own machines (presumably true), and they bought the exact same machines as L64. It seems to me like it took them a while to get new C-line Originals pumping out? It’s possible they were set on entirely different plastics … until the practicality of knowing L64 already worked out some nice blends was too tempting? Grand being among the best feeling new plastics… business sense took over?
Alternate theory: Jussi demanded completely new plastics. With him out, Discmania (or parent company, wink), caved to known blends?
