new disc = Discmania's equivalent of the Thunderbird?

The Jolly Launcher Thunderbird is more overstable than the CD2.

I am thinking like a C-PD but with more glide and less fade, perhaps a smidge more turn. A hybrid between C-FD and C-PD. Straight, predictable, controllable. i.e. Musthave. [9|5|-1|1]?

Very straight 9,5,-1,2

I don't know -- TD is too close to that to have that not be redundant.
8 5 -3 1?

The TD turns more.

Maybe just 7 5 -3 1. Actually an understable fairway.
The PDGA approved discs list from 9-17-14 doesn't have anything new from Discmania on it, so either this isn't approved yet, or it's a C Line version of something that's not already here.
However, that doesn't mean it's not a current mold of Innova (or a past one....), because the Gremlin is still listed under Innova. So it may be something that's already out there and is getting a rebrand or a rebirth.
|
The CD2 is a completely unique disc, as all of our discs besides 1. It has been approved. The only disc we at Discmania has taken from Innova was the GM-Gremlin.

I bet it's already pdga approved but they havent announced it yet. Waiting for discmania to announce it first
Maybe sidewinderish?
|
We usually don't like to compare other discs but I believe the Sidewinder is more understable.

There was only 1 post of a new disc. Then the prototypes were released :)

I wouldn't be surprised if this has been asked before, but I love the idea. What are the chances if sometime down the road Discmania releases a true overstable fairway driver? I'd love a small diameter one similar to a whippet or something. That's would make my day. I use the FD every round and plan on replacing my Teebird with an FD2 someday. I think with only two fairway drivers in the lineup both being great, either a super overstable or something less stable than the FD would be sweet
|
The FD2 is very overstable. It's like a tank through the wind it goes straight then dumps off pretty hard.

While the FD2 isn't small diameter, it is a true overstable fairway. Give it a try, though unless you're throwing a Brinster Teebird they're not that close in stability. It's more akin to a slightly worked-in firebird.
|
Thanks for that comparison of the FD2!

Thanks for the info and quick response. I'm going to give the Fd2 a try regardless. But I think I was kinda leaning a little more towards something whippet, ram, or viperish. Something just silly overstable. Just wondered if something like that might ever be a possibilty in the line up someday
|
We will consider it in the future.

Do not quote me on this but, I believe the Viking likes to turn a bit more. The CD2 is very straight.
