nah its ok I wouldve wanted the 1st run ones...but the new ones are too flippy and POS :p

harr0140 09-22-2011 08:45 PM

I got mine . . . at the time when I was the third Diamond TR I am not sure how many Tim planned to make . . . although I doubt he would have expected 5 more diamond TR's since then.

timg 09-22-2011 08:58 PM

You have to request them but at this point, I can't afford to buy them for the people that have made it. Each of those costs like $40 shipped and I don't have the spare $200 or whatever it is for the latest batch of diamond reviewers.

optidiscic 09-22-2011 09:06 PM

Tim I don't really need one.....I would've been more persistent about it in the past if I did. The site has given me more fun and info than I imagined and thats enough for me

timg 09-22-2011 09:08 PM

I know it's not as fun, but if you guys want one I can cover some of the cost if you want to spend a few bucks to get one. I never really thought that many people would make it... at least not in a burst like that.

Jukeshoe 09-22-2011 10:47 PM

*angry mob forms at timg's doorstep*

;)

BrotherDave 09-22-2011 10:51 PM

*Optidisc gets package from timg, gets excited and opens it up*

*sees styrofoam plate with "DGCR Diamon Reeviewer, Optidickit" spelled in macaroni on it*

If I was just getting mine I would totally spend the $40 for one . . . in fact, if I send you $40 timg you can use it to pay for one for the new guys . . . Pay it Forward!

sillybizz 10-11-2011 02:02 PM

Is Swatso a new Diamond?

mashnut 10-11-2011 02:26 PM

Yup, congrats #9!

NDABRUSH 10-11-2011 02:58 PM

I noticed that earlier but thought it must have happened on a day that I don't have access to a computer. Congrats!!! Who will be #10?

mashnut 10-11-2011 03:04 PM

My bet is still on Donovan to get it sooner rather than later.

bcr123psu 10-11-2011 03:10 PM

Nice work Swatso!

JR Stengele 10-11-2011 03:23 PM

Congrats Swatso!

Who will be the last reviewer to make the top 10? One spot left to make it... Donovan?

sillybizz 10-11-2011 04:15 PM

Now he is cool enough to join the social group. :|

swatso 10-11-2011 08:09 PM

Thanks all - especially to whomever the random 200th voter happened to be!

Jukeshoe 10-11-2011 10:24 PM

Congrats, Swatsy! :hfive:

solomon.trenton 10-11-2011 10:49 PM

very cool!

srm_520 10-12-2011 12:08 AM

Crap, I had better get a move on!

Congrats man, very well done.

JR Stengele 10-12-2011 01:47 PM

^ You, Donovan, and cefire are going to turn diamond at any moment. Just keep up the good reviews as all three of you are worthy and we'd be lucky to have you in the EDRC. :)

Thank you kind sir.

And just like that, (and no it wasn't anyone I knew) I'm over a grand and now just waiting on the 200. So close and yet so far away... :)

AdamE 10-13-2011 01:06 PM

Dave242 needs less than 200 thumbs up to go straight to diamond, but he hasn't written a new review since March.

I think you misunderstand the qualifications. Your negatives can't be more than 40% of your positives, so he's got a ways to go.

timg 10-13-2011 01:37 PM

Actually, he needs around 1500 assuming nobody else give him a thumbs down.

bcr123psu 10-13-2011 02:33 PM

It's a shame because dave242 has contributed so many quality reviews and it seems that he gets punished for being honest.

timg 10-13-2011 02:43 PM

Nah, he got punished for that weird format he used early on. That's what did him in.

JR Stengele 10-13-2011 03:18 PM

Just imagine when he DOES become a diamond reviewer. He will by far have the most votes of anyone, good and bad. He IS however a good reviewer and adds a lot to this site.

Brall 10-13-2011 03:29 PM

What I like and how this course stacks up:
1) Holes with good risk/reward -- B
2) Holes that have rewarding birdie opportunities -- B-
3) More wooded than open - lots of variety of shots required caused by hole shape and topography -- B
4) Natural beauty (Appalachian beauty preferred) and seclusion -- A+
5) Multi-shot holes with defined landing zones, good risk/reward and multiple options to play them -- C
... and that's it. not sure how to take the early ones.

I wish, then I wouldn't be nearly as irritated on payday when I get a tiny check for lots of work :p

It helps that we live in a cheap apartment and walk to work, and we camp and cook our own food on road trips to save money.
