There's a discussion on Facebook in the disc golf history group about BS. Most of the people in that discussion are saying Brodie is good for the sport but he won't be a top golfer this year or a few years to come. Most believe he won't stick around much longer than 1-2 years.
But they're just a bunch of grumpy old people yelling get off my lawn who know nothing about disc golf. |

^recently yes. The Paul videos earlier were abysmal. We will have to wait and see. Like I said before, lots of people can do amazing stuff with the disc but fail at tourneys.

https://www.discraft.com/brodie-smit...rodiesmith.3pk As long as his rating is decent he'll be interesting enough to watch. That combined with his media savvy should keep him in the disc golf limelight as long as he wants it. Judging by what appears to be very legit disc golf training, field work, etc, I would guess there is a decent expanded contract or bonus waiting for Brodie when/if he starts playing well in tournaments. |

The one where I saw he absolutely crushed was dash's. He shot something like -17 |
I know one thing, if Brodie starts doing commentary on DG tourneys I suspect a lot of people will be owing Big Jerm and Mr. Risley an apology. I can't wait to hear every throw described as "freaky" and "sick."
|
People give Jerm(and also AJ) flak because he tries too hard to be funny, when he should be doing the straight guy bit and letting Nate do the humor...
|
Of the pros, Uli is the funniest. I am not for sure if it planned though.

If it wasn't for his videos, I may never have found the Envy.... |

I can remember he commented on DDGC 2018 and Texas state champs 2019 and maybe WACO? |
The one he did with BWill was so weird. Bradley kept talking about his shot like he wasn't there, lol...
|
Bradley is weird. He had some strange threads here a few years ago.
|
Uli is fun to listen to, but I also think he does some of the best commentary. He's not just there to talk, but actually explains things well. I like Kevin Jones for this same reason.

Watched the vid of him throwing drivers in the sports dome w/Paul. Brodie can freaking rip. I mean, of course he can, but still. The great part is he's throwing so hard and straight with a form that still looks fish-out-of-water. When he gets smooth, it's gonna be something to see.
Most interested to see him with the mids, should be the next video. The banter with them is all about selling discs, too. For me it was over the top and mildly predatory, but it's going to be effective. |
Pretty pleased that I still have never seen a video with him in it.

All I was thinking was, they could not have waited a few days for a break in the weather to go outside to film this? You could not really get much of an idea of disc flight or the differences between the molds. |

That doesn't sound like it. |
Looks like he will need to play at least 1 small event... and that's if he doesn't tank it...

What I will say is that he certainly did not look ready to enter a top class event. He looked like a really, really gifted beginner with top potential, which is exactly what he is. I think the hype-eaters are going to be very disappointed that he doesn't come out ready to beat the pros. |

Still very impressive for a guy who has been seriously playing the sport for about a month. He'll improve, but he obviously isn't there yet. I guarantee he knows this as well. |
