I'm just a bit mad that I can't go try to figure out what a crappy round's rating would be. The Worlds page from last year has all 4 rounds being played at Eureka for some reason...

I sent a message to Chuck in case he wants to fix it but for player ratings, it doesn't really matter since most of them will have it drop off during next month's update...

Cgkdisc 08-13-2020 01:07 PM

With pools, I believe the PDGA still puts the scores for the same round in the same column even though they were thrown on different courses. You may need to do some detective work to tease out which score came on which course in the column. Big Dog has been the one to ask for the past year regarding perceived scoring issues or course labels on the PDGA results web pages.

Ahh, that makes sense.

He finally got a birdie, lol. +5 thru 9

Did you check Udisc?? I remember watch the scores last year on their software. With two pools playing at difference course it can get messy with PDGA site.

Edit::

Found it

Well... if he were to par out and the ratings are similar to last year, shooting +6 would be 970ish... but he hasn't played the 1000ft monster in the woods yet. If he comes away with anything less than 7, it would probably be a decent score on that hole...Only Conrad got the bird the first time thru the course at Worlds...

The player ratings are correct, but the pools screw up the displayed name for each round. Same division being split into two courses at the same time is difficult to show. To get a feel for the ratings last year, you have to know what players played what course by looking at the old documentation if you can find it (and know what players played in what pool). Email [email protected] if you have specific questions.

Last year at worlds, Northwoods MPO (par 64, 9299 ft) had an SSA of 66.7

brutalbrutus 08-13-2020 02:25 PM

Well... he got thru the monster with a bogey. Pretty good considering all the huge scores on that hole.

That hole eating up a few people today. Nikko with a double. Philo with a snowman.

6 is a pretty decent score.

No birdies yet on it.

ToddL 08-13-2020 03:17 PM

Only 4 birdies on hole 12 at Worlds last year. Eagle McMahon, James Conrad, Chandler Fry, Tristan Tanner

Bigtex 08-13-2020 04:43 PM

Here fishy fishy.

brutalbrutus 08-13-2020 05:09 PM

Been waiting for Nate to upload his score but it hasn't happened yet... So far +8 was in the 960s but that was pretty early and there's been a lot of people finish since then.

Hampstead 08-13-2020 09:13 PM

18 strokes out of first

18 holes per round

Brodie has got this

No worries

Tpro 08-13-2020 09:46 PM

Well the good news is... He had one bird and isn’t tied for 148th. #getfreaky

DiscFifty 08-13-2020 09:48 PM

Brodie & Beto on the same card tomorrow. If that round gets filmed.......

runningoz 08-13-2020 10:06 PM

Is Brodie bringing Paul down?

brutalbrutus 08-13-2020 10:06 PM

Lol...

As in Dan Beto...MasterBeto!?

brutalbrutus 08-14-2020 01:29 PM

+5 thru 13.

He obviously doesn't jive well with this course. Doss brought up something during the livestream yesterday that would likely be the reason. You have to be able to control your speed very well to compete on this course and Brodie definitely still has some issues with that.

c_a_miller 08-14-2020 02:05 PM

He's tweeting through his round lol:

I’ll be interested to see what he says a few days after the event. Tournament golf is tough because it’s usually at a lot slower pace than what most of us are playing on our own. Very easy to lose your rhythm or simply just never find it. Also gives you a lot of time to think about any mistakes you just made.

Just goes to show how good these guys and gals actually are to be able to put hot rounds together when flow isn’t ideal. Brodie likes to make comparisons to ball golf, I’m curious to see what he says after he mellows out a bit.

brutalbrutus 08-14-2020 02:48 PM

Well... he's improving anyway, lol. Got the bird on the last hole to shoot +6

GageWhite23 08-14-2020 02:53 PM

I think with time he will learn a way to stay in a rythem during the waits between holes. I've seen a lot of players listen to music, joke around with their cardmates, wipe off their discs or I've seen some carry a stress ball just to squeeze.

wolfhaley 08-14-2020 02:57 PM

He spent all spring playing Dallas pitch and putts, this should come as no surprise.

He talked about that during the podcast last week. He said he's gonna start driving out to the harder longer courses instead of just settling for the short easy ones closer to where he lives.

wolfhaley 08-14-2020 03:01 PM

Idlewild and Northwood will eat you alive if you're not used to courses like that. Or even if you are lol.

You can tell which holes he's struggling with also. Its the ones where not only do you have to hit a gap but need to have the proper speed. Same holes he struggled with at Idle. There are just more of those type at Northwood. Idle has some holes where you just need to hit a small gap and once it goes thru, speed isn't as much of an issue. Hole 14 for example, which he birdied 2 of 3 rds. But holes like 7, 17 and 18 where you need to control the speed, he struggled with. Then you also have the low ceiling park style holes at Northwood and he sometimes has trouble with nose up angle.

He'd have to drive a long way - no courses like these in DFW. Maybe a hole or two here or there - Z Boaz and Munson Park come to mind with a few similarly designed holes - but that's driving an hour each direction to get practice on two holes.
There are hit-a-gap holes and long holes, but the tree cover here just isn't the same. The most frequent 'challenges' are distance and wind, and substantial elevation changes are few and far between.

Lots of great ball golfers from Texas, but the layouts here don't seem to produce too many pro discers.

Yes, I think he mentioned having to drive 45min or something out to a course.

no he sold all those for $100 a piece and made moar than the actual purse money

so hes still going home a winner

brutalbrutus 08-14-2020 10:51 PM

974 today. Doesn't look like a lot of wind tomorrow for Eureka but it could rain. I'm guessing he's going to have a good round and shoot 1000+

New to the game huh? Me thinks not. Apparently he’s been playing longer than some on this forum.
