Could say the sand got a gym membership with premium features like classes that do the exact same thing. Peloton just allows you to experience it at home

Some people love to be a contrarian, even if they don’t realize it. The guy is starting at a level the sport has never seen: elite level ultimate player, training and support by current elite disc golfers, sponsorship by an elite disc golf manufacturer, no time or money restrictions that would deter his training and the support of literally millions of people. All signs point to him becoming an absolute monster of the sport. Any issues he currently has, he will get them figured out.

My niece was showing me her Peloton at Christmas. It has race mode that pits one against other riders live for those whom are competitive. It also has a mode that are just scenic rides for a more relaxed atmosphere.

It's a nice piece of equipment that is great for people whom live in the office. I just think of how much raw iron I could buy for $3k

Not her actual move, the style of the video announcement. I don’t really see it, just something people have observed.

ejvogie 01-18-2020 03:58 PM

Ahh, I haven't and won't see either.

Besides, I'm not saying he'll be a clutch putter. I just think he's got the background to become a competent putter rather quickly.

I disagree. If guys that putt like AJ Risley, Dustin Keegan, and Nate Perkins can get on to lead cards than I think Brodie can too. I'm not saying he'll putt well enough to win any tourneys but I don't think putting will be the reason he's not competitive. Otherwise, McBeth is a lousy ****ing teacher.

I'm sure it's so helpful for Brodie to be able to zero in on one catalogue to dial in his molds.

Not true, I have been playing longer then you.

I started in Mid 2003 when Innova had 3 brands the original Trilogy and Discracft/DGA was still a new partnership. There was as well as Lighting, Gateway, and Wham-O making the better discs at the time. Yes Instep had just released its older brand of discs not the ESP set they sell now but still with only 3 discs but they were not a top brand (now even less power), not even at the Lighting or Wham-O second level of discs.

Cool! Now Discraft just needs to make the ESP Putt'r to fix the poor plastic choice of Soft X for the Putt'r, the only plastic the disc comes in so players can have a better plastic for that lid. That or stop making the Putt'r, very few players use the mold due to how the Soft X gets a mini concave after a short period, mine was 25-35 putts, and mold is like a 0.5 in glide. Basically a slight broken in Putt'r only works for those who use the from the chest spin putt where all the distance is made by spin only as if using a catch disc and very little power or a very hard slamming the pole push only putt, why you see Scott Stokely using the Soft X Putt'r in his 2019 putting videos. Even the Aerobie Arrow has more glide then a worn in Soft X Putt'r.

If the mold were to be fixed by having a better plastic, then the Putt'r would be used as a longer putter for me as the more neutral to slight US approach disc. and possibly replace the Magnet as my putter all together. I used a Putt'r for 1.5 season to have found out the plastic makes a Putt'r garbage. As to why I did not use a Pole cat, the edge is not comfortable in my hand due to top and edge meeting corner.

Foot faults. Brodie will have a lot of foot faults because he's never had to worry about hitting a mark with his plant foot before.

That won't matter though since they're never called.

I’m sure he knows he just needs some time to get used to that, marking discs, timing out and step counting if he plans to x step after a drive. I don’t think foot faults will be a problem for him whether they are called or not.

Can definitely see him breaking 500 ft. BH and going 400+ with ease on FH.

The guy had the absolute smoothest FH with an Ultimate Frisbee that went a mile.

Brodie did the same thing in ball golf, worked with top instructor and played with Jon Rahm, Sergio Garcia, and Greg Norman.

Not sure how much he will be throwing FH:

I would say probably 70-30 backhand to forehand. Probably won’t break it out unless the shot really asks for it. He has a wicked overhand too though.

But Inside the circle jump puts are called. Those Under 10 meter jump putts are something people notice.

I think what Titan is saying is that Brodie might miss out on the cash and possible performance $$ from Discraft that he could possibly eventually learn to not miss the little things like true foot faults and other fouls. Close calls are another thing, same as not calling the obvious pick up of the marker before the disc finishes its flight. the latter is not really called in putts as if MJ can get away with putting and removing a marker before disc has finished flight at the smaller Pro tour or National Tour tournament The __ in California. A female player doing the same Foot Fault at GBO not getting called then it is not going to get called by Brodie.

Hi, Holly. Casey dwells in an alternate space separate from most of us. Nods and smiles seem to work best.

Oh wait it was the moving forward of the previous marked lie that MJ did before the disc finished its flight at that California NT or PT event. I do not think I finished my thought all the way. At least that seems like a violation stepping over the lie before the disc is finished in flight. 90% of the other top players tend to stay behind the disc as it is moving, removing the Marker is not the violation, the stepping over the lie is the violation. Those shots with stepping over the lie before disc comes to rest are rarely called as a violation anyhow in play.

This guy is spending literally an entire week with Paul Mcbeth and Simon Lizotte...if he wasn’t doing that I would say differently but these are literally two of the best players in the game, if he screws up, they will call him out on it. We haven’t even seen this guy play a full 18 yet but you’re already counting him out and that bugs me a bit but hey to each their own I guess.

Was he within 10 meters of the target at the time? Hard to imagine. Otherwise its just follow through, perfectly legal.

You can't run and throw in Ultimate so I don't
see how he would be particularly prone to foot faulting.

More like you’re reaching, his response was legit and light years away from “going all in”. Did Brodie steal your girl or something? Jeez.

Possibly the weirdest flex I’ve seen in a while- like yeah this guy will NEVER be able to even partially grasp the X step as if it was some sacred dance only the chosen few are allowed to perform.

I don’t understand how overprotective some seem over this guy playing- DG isn’t your daughter and he’s not trying to bang her. Get over yourselves. All this “he won’t succeed” when here we are 20+ pages deep and he hasn’t even teed off yet lol. News flash: he’s already winning just because his haters can’t seem to stop talking about him lol... It’s funny to watch.

Brodie is sparking attention and discussion already, so that's good. Discraft was smart to sponsor him. It's incredible how quickly they got their poop in a group when it comes to their online presence.

When he throws from the fairway he must be sure to plant his foot in the proper way, something he does not have to consider while throwing playing any other sport.

This isn't difficult to understand, but like I said he'll never be called on it anyway.

Never? Ehhh I'm not so sure about that. Based on some comments I've been seeing on FB it kind of sounds like there might be some rather bitter pros out there who are jealous of him being able to jump right into a sponsorship before even throwing his first tourney. Kind of a, "I've worked hard for years to get where I am and he just shows up with a deal right away?" I'd be willing to bet he gets stroked more often than not.

They have a good point. You could be correct but I doubt we ever see it because I am not convinced he will be a 1000 rated player. I don't care who his coaches are this week.

In fact I'm willing to bet a disc he won't be rated 1000 this year at any time.

Anyone with that attitude needs to refocus on their own efforts. They aren't really jealous that someone is getting rewarded for doing nothing; what they are really jealous of is that he has built a personal brand with a huge following as well as demonstrated disc skills that can transfer over. They should work on their own games (dg and brand-building) instead.

Could not possibly agree more - especially the bolded part.
