Any nail works. I use inch nails with a large head to hold the disc well, but, even thumbtacks will work.

PS, to my gazelle boys:
http://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums...postcount=1947 might be able to snag this one if you act quick. |
nice poster ... smokes, let's go!

I was away from disc golf for a while but am happy to see all this love for the Gazelle. I love the predictability and control I have with this disc.
Here is my collection: three throwers (bottom inked in reverse), some 9X (with storage wear), 10X (including some dirty socks as I see they are called), and some choice 11X. I wish Innova would make a run of circle stamp champ. Cheers! http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/8119150555/ http://flic.kr/p/dnsLMa http://flic.kr/p/dnsQEw http://flic.kr/p/dnsLGD |

11X stash. Also, is there a Cheetah love thread? I may have more Cheetahs, another great disc that will always be in my bag.

I'm about to drop a very large % of my collection. Something like 35 gazelles - 25 11x mostly used, 10x, and CE. PM me or look for my post in the MP today or tomorrow.

@jsc430: Let's talk. pm'd.

I've had alot of pms already so i'll respond here. I'm selling a good portion of my collection, that's pretty much all there is to it.
I will respond to all pms thus far at the same time with the list and links to pictures. If you wanna negotiate prices you might as well wait at least 24hrs after my threads hit the MP. For the gazelles, i have 22 11xs, 6 10xs, and 8 CE/candy. There's alot of ink in there but some new and used without ink too. Please let me know if i missed a weight or made a mistake. Thanks again for you interest  I'll also have two other threads. One with oop ALOT of Valkyries, but there's also gonna be some kc pro, some ce, pro line, special blend, bar stamp, augusta, first run.....yeah that pretty much covers it. And the third one will be random stock stuff. |
I pm'd on an 11x thrower 167-170g. Just FYI for all. Not interested in any collectibles at this time.
Amazing collection jsc, especially that CE. Ooooo baby. |
Not to take away from the Gazelle love, but are any of those throwers?
|
Looks like a good place for my first post. I found a Gazelle this weekend while playing. Older one, white with rainbow stamp. 1994 Ontario markings. Contacted the lone name n number I could find, said he traded it away years ago. Nobody loved this one as it was left in the high grass for a while. :(
|
That sounds like a circle stamp GT. I collect those. I'm interested in buying it if it's for sale. PM me.
@sting, at least a half dozen throwers in there. |

@Philly, I don't know if I would even try to sell it as it is pretty worn. Pretty sure it is the circle stamp version, as there was a pretty faded name and PDGA # on there. Also looks like it may have had several owners, some blocks of ink on the back I assume crossing out previous contact info. I dont throw them and it didnt cost me a cent, original owner declined it back, so I may just give it to you. PM me info if interested. I could probably snap some photos tonight if needed.

I take em new destroyed and everything in between. Pm'd!

Has anybody tried the factory store Pro or Star Gazelles? I miss my Gazelle, one of my first discs. I have no clue where I lost it.
Also, it seems like it used to be a lot more popular. Why isn't Innova running it in any other plastic than DX anymore? Same thing with many other Innova fairway drivers.. it's wrong! |

I personally like DX Gazelles so I'm content :D I am getting 2 glo gazelles from a tournament (i dont remember where) for christmas from my brother, but lets hope they last a really long time based on how much I throw em. lol |

Once the tech improved and distance drivers became what we know them today, a lot of the fairway drivers kind of got pushed to the side. There was a time when everyone had an Gazelle, Banshee and Cheetah in their bag. And Pegasus' were the best wind-fighting disc on the market. But those times are long past, my friend. While I never liked the Cheetah or Banshee, I do think the Gazelle should be talked about in the same breath as the Leopard, Eagle and Teebird (all of which come in a variety of plastics.) Sadly, the market just isn't there for Gaz's anymore. Why would a new player want to pick up that lame old Gazelle when they could pick up that SICK Destroyer with the killer robot on it! Right? |
It's tough for Gazelles to get much of the market share when the eagle will do all the same things and goes a little farther. It's the same reason the beast and orc aren't seeing the sales that the wraith, destroyer and boss do. They're good discs, but there are discs with similar flight that are a little faster so they often get forgotten.

Fairway drivers are underrated nowadays, it's a bit sad... same goes with Whippets and Vipers. At least you can get a Banshee in premium plastic if you want an overstable fairway driver.. |
A little faster and a little farther don't necessarily mean better and it's too bad newer players get drawn in by that so much. Sometimes slower has it's place and I find a lot of newer players, in my experience, miss out on that. Not too many bolfers carry D, 3W, PW, P.

Well, I guess it's better that Innova still runs those molds in DX rather than get them out of production completely. |
