I suppose some could think so. Some of our molds just need to be freshened up a bit. Everything we made has been with a purpose and all are great discs. Some of them just gained more exposure than others and rose quickly to the top. The P3 is a good example of this. We'll just be freeing up some space in our lineup to make room for some new ones! No major changes are coming in the grand scheme of things.

Did you mean the P2 as an example of rising to the top?

Or is the P3 an example of freeing up some space?

Haha I just need to know if I should buy even more D-P3's

Anthony_G 03-15-2019 01:00 PM

..and S-Line TD's

P-Line P2 2-3-0-3

I noticed that on the discmania site, there are new P-Line p2s with the store mini stamp...but with a 3 fade.

Is this a typo?

Thanks!

I got one of those with my order last week, but never even noticed the flight numbers on the website. I'm guessing it's just a typo.

If you throw it at all this week, let us know if you saw any difference in the stability in fade.

It would be interesting if those flight numbers were true!

If you look on the DM website, this is the only P2 with these specs. I feel like if Discmania retooled the P2 (P2X?), they would make a major announcement and it would be listed on the PDGA approval list. I'm sure this is just a typo.

It breaks some hearts, some of ours included, but we will replace anything that no longer is made with a fresh new take on other molds and have the same flight characteristics in mind. This may not always be the case but new molds are definitely a big goal this year.

Just when you think you finally found a nice alternative to the Destroyer...

DD3.

Jenga54 03-19-2019 04:30 PM

Active Line still April on USA release?
DD3 Swirly and/or SLine still on April release?
Instinct April? Method May? Link June? Enigma July?
Feel like I've been waiting months for the Instinct to get here ;)

But I love speed 11... Good thing swirly CD3 isn't for lower in stability until I'm comfortable with faster Discs. :)

I feel bad for the people that throw the molds that are going away or the molds that won't be available in certain plastics, but I'm excited to see what kind of change this brings. I'm going to miss the DD, but I have such a huge stash it won't matter.

Stable 03-22-2019 07:32 AM

At least they let everyone know ahead of time. Unlike Discraft who just removes molds & let's players figure it out themselves.

All G line? I love my G-PD2s and my G-CD2 is just like a beat in PD. Might have to do some shopping...

dehaas 03-22-2019 07:40 AM

Makes sense from an efficiency perspective, if you only have so many production hours available with Innova why use them on models that aren’t selling?

Especially if your other two manufacturers have similar models lined up to produce.

If it means better availability for the stuff people want, FD’s, PD’s, CD2’s, and PD2’s I think it will go over fairly well.

It’ll be kinda weird to have the naming gaps in the lineup though.

Horsman 03-22-2019 07:42 AM

They just came out with the C-Line P3X and they are already getting rid of it. Dammit.

Yeah the CD2 should be the CD now. But that would get really confusing.

fishballer06 03-22-2019 09:22 AM

Really sad to see the CD and DD going away. Such long standing molds for them. The CD was the mold that got me to fall in love with Discmania and eventually led to me switching my entire bag to all DM. I'll be stocking up on CD's and P1x's, and looking forward to what the future has in store for us.

The most recent run of C-P3x seemed less stable than the first run of C-lines. Small sample size of 2 discs, so it may be an aberration. I still haven't decided whether I like the C or S-line better, so I might as well focus on the S-line now.

Everyone says the CD was what made them love Discmania, me too! And when they did run them they sold out... Like maybe it didn't sell more than 1000 units last year b/c they were out of stock, not because people didn't buy em... :|

If you find a place to stock up on CDs let me know..... i think they are already gone most places

I really like the d line p3x but your looking for OS and I never found the p3x to be very OS at all

Here's hoping the dropping of the P3 from the lineup makes room for a fast, flat, beadless, very OS putter-mid speed 3.49-ish

Compared to my S-line P2s, they like to get to the ground faster. The P3xs are faster but, for me, don't have as much float as the P2s. I like them for shots that I throw on a hyzer line and need for it to get down, as well as headwind putting. I can throw the P2s for the same shots, so it's a bit of an overlap for me.

Overall, not that much of a loss for me. :\

kinger 03-23-2019 03:41 PM

Goodbye G-Line FD's, you will be hugely missed......anything under max weight seems to have been non-existent for this mold in the G plastic the past year or two. Not going to stock up, just throw the few I have until it's time to find a replacement.

I agree with you for the most part but I like the p3x for low ceilings and forehand shots. But like you said there is some over lap

ponder 03-24-2019 12:29 PM

Is the retooled fd2 going to become a regular production run or just used for the tour series disc?

midairmatthew 03-24-2019 09:54 PM

If GPDs are going away, the universe demands fresh PPDs to keep the balance. I know, because I just had a short conversation.

Me: Oh dang. I just discovered the GPD, and it's now a huge part of my game. I'm so sad.

Universe: Why you sad about that, though?

Me: Well, Discmania isn't going to make it anymore.

Universe: Oh, I know. I'm giving Jussi flat tires and making him stub his toes and warming his ice cream so it melts marginally faster than it should...

Me: Uh. Why?

Universe: It's my way of demanding more P-Line PDs.

Me: Cool. Thanks.

Universe: No probs. I'll take care of it. I'll take care of everything.

If you want PDs in flippy plastic that beats in fast, maybe lat 64 can add them to the evolution line

UhrigDG 03-24-2019 10:45 PM

I would love to snag a fat stack of P-Pds, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed while I keep stocking up with any I can find. I feel like the G-Pds just don’t break in to the same flight as p-line but the will be missed.

B The V 03-25-2019 07:08 AM

I just bought two brand new freak stamped PPD's from my local store. Also bought a couple of the old Craze stamped SCD's as well. There is still stuff out there.

I'll just leave this here. Note, all pricing is in CAD. I only bag C-PDs in various weights and don't feel like getting attached to a disc that may or may not ever be produced again. But to anyone who wants a few 170g+ P-PDs, here's four.

I honestly wouldn't hate that. And no disrespect to lat64 but my experience with the discs they've manufactured is they don't hold there stability. I would buy a cpd if I knew it would beat in quick

Lol I just love to dump on Lat64 plastic but it could seriously be beneficial if you want a disc that will beat in fast!

The recent run of c line PDS are crazy os and I isn't what I need personally

Jenga54 03-25-2019 02:45 PM

Luckily the plastic we're getting with Evolution line isn't the same as the Lat64 blends

jjmiller 03-25-2019 07:31 PM

Is this new Color Glow FD2 going to be different from the retooled “prototype” that came out in S-Line last year? If so, in what way(s) is it different? Is the mold itself different? How’s the flight compare?
