They are doing that on some of the molds that fly different in different plastics. The new Neutron Pilot that is coming out is getting different numbers than the those molded in Electron.

Great idea, really. Seeing as how electron and fix fly different than say proton. As long as they are kind of accurate with it, I dig it.

I am thinking of giving MVP a shot and I think I have figured out most of what I want to try, but the fairway driver section is leaving me a little puzzled. Seems like you could either go the speed 6.5s with some 9s or just go straight 8s. What do you guys do and the other thing giving me trouble is based on the flight numbers, it seems like everything is slightly understable or overstable. What is the closest thing to a teebird? I want something I can rip and know it is just going to go straight with a mild fade.

How far are you throwing? The Volt I believe is the Teebird contender, you can fudge down too buying a fission in a lighter weight.. but as a fairway the Crave is excellent too for lower power.. I'm not a big Teebird guy myself...

And did people know you can get a 157 fission Volt?

Depends on how you like to use mids and putters. If you're like me and like to stretch out your putters and therefore don't use the mids as much, then the resistor, relay and crave types are probably a must.

If you prefer to use your mids more, then you can probably skip over the slower speed fairways and go to volt/amp class or even step up to Tesla and Inertia/Insanity class.

Crave is probably what you're looking for. Its a classic 0 2 type of flight. Maybe -.5 1.5 depending on the plastic. Servo is more like an Eagle with a bit of turn and more fade. -1 2.5/3. If you have a shop to feel up plastic, look for a stiff neutron Crave that is flat.

^Volt is kinda in between a champ tbird and thunderbird speedwise but a bit closer to the thunderbird.

Right now I am using mids more than my putters, but I don't have the most driver friendly putters in my bag right now. There are a lot of 300-350' holes with ceilings where I play so I feel like I need mids and the shorter fairways. I will have to see how far the envy and proxy go though. If I do go the Crave route, what speed 9 molds would you partner it with? Tesla or Wrath?

Crave, just like Brutus said, stiff and flat Neutron. They are things of beauty.
The reason I think Craves are better than Teebirds is that they power down better.

I feel that the Thunderbird is trying to be a Volt. Volts have the high speed stability of a Thunderbird but the low speed stability of a beefy Champion Valk.

....

Speaking of Craves, I lost my first run black core blue overmold last night. I have a bounty out on it for anyone that finds it.

brutalbrutus 05-16-2019 10:27 PM

If you want something to match the flight of the Crave, then go with the Wrath(in neutron and Proton, not the new prizm plastic. Reports are that those are less OS). Teslas tend to have a bit more beef and less glide but you can get Teslas is fission(lightweight "air plastic") which makes that mold a bit more versatile...

BTW, the Relay is really good at low ceiling shots. Its more or less like a Leopard or a used but not abused dx tbird...

Plasma Volt. Yes, I know they are listed as an 8 now, but they used to be a 9 (By measurement, they are a 8.5). They have good glide and a bit of fade; less than their Neutron brethren though.

Wraths and Teslas feel closer to speed 10...and used to be listed as so. Good discs though.

I agree with Brutus on the Relay. Relay, Crave and Plasma Volt are all straight shooters and pair well together.

Can you guys give me a plastic breakdown based on stability? Do they vary from plastic to plastic or is it pretty consistent?
