This was the experience I had with a Tesla. I don't recall if mine was plasma or proton, I recall it was frustrating to throw. The only signs of glide it ever showed were on downhill shots--if I were throwing down a hill, it would carry like it was really designed to fly instead of be a paperweight (and would carry well past what I expected). Any other time--paperweight. I chuckled when I lost it, as it could never again tempt me to throw it.

Ordered a 165 Reactor (and found a 166 SE Matrix) so waiting on those to arrive to give them a shot.

My go-to Matrix is a 172 pop top that tends to be pretty stable. I had a couple lighter yellow ones that I could get an extra 30'-40' out of so looking forward to seeing what I can do with these mid-60s.

As I said before - Tesla is my pin point control driver. I don't throw it for glide. If I want glide, I throw an Inertia. I really wish MVP would develop a 9 5 -1 +1 driver to fit in-between the Tesla and Inertia.

You said you're tried em all.. So I assume you've tried a it in fission.. My experience with the plasma 157 tesla is they're board flat, not glidey and real beefy with the HSS. Throws flat to fade and when it's done it has a last minute pop up to a high panning hyzer fade. It's a Resistor/ Deflector kinda distance for me.. So short.

My 162 fission has a big dome, it has a bit of turn, bit of fade, it sets down a little flatter and has a long glide, it's my longest forehand disc. Even at 5g heavier it's more controllable, it will ride a reasonably long anhyzer in a tight forced straight line before biting back.

A buddy of mine, I don't know how old but he's been playing for 40 yrs, has a 149(?) Fission Tesla, he throws polecats, leopards etc.. His is beautifully straight and his longest disc by far. He picked it up and gained 40-50' easy.

I find that the Fission Tesla (especially 166+ PFN) fit this bill. With all the plastics and runs, the Tesla can fit just about any shot. Fission, especially sub 155, fly like Inertias off the shelf. Fission Teslas over 160g are super straight with some fade. Plasma Teslas for the most part are super FAF with almost no glide but throw like a beat in Motion. They fill that forehand and headwind shot (much like a good beat in Firebird). Neutron Teslas can run the gamut. I have FAF ones and some with a heartbeat dome. Go by feel on these. I tend not to bag Neutron Teslas. Proton Teslas are also FAF for the most part but have more glide than the Plasma ones for some reason. I have an early run FX Proton that is nice and gummy and holds up well to a headwind. I also bag 3 Fission Teslas and if I need a easy turnover shot from hyzer I will bag a 130-class Fission Tesla.

What weights are you packing?

Hey I was looking at Facebook they were talking about MVP's new glow plastic or eclipse blend.. Anyone else heard about this? They were saying better than kastaplast

That's a big claim. Will have to see to believe.

163g FAF FR (super straight with tough fade/control driver) (Tesla or OS off shelf Inertia like some of the early ones)
168g FAF PFN later run but not domey (bit US great for hyzer flip BH and FH. Turnover with tons glide) (Tesla/fresh Inertia)
152g PFN later with some dome (stable) (Tesla)
144g FAF FR (super US and great for touch annys and turnovers) (Impusle)

Thanks man, yeah I think I'm going to really look at the Tesla, it does a lot of what my Switch does only more reliably, similar hard flip characteristic though when you cheese it into a headwind on anymore than a 15-25 degree anhyzer..

(For anyone that doesn't know... MVP made the Switch for me, personally I'm sure since I was the only one that loves it, it's a Relay OS as long as you keep it flattish)

I find that the Servo fits that spot better. I find that the Switch has too much HSS and makes it too similar to the Relay. I wanted something with a -.5 to a -.1 turn at the max when beaten in. The Servo's have been a bit weird. In this case, I like the FN version and Plasma versus the OG. Some of the OG Neutrons were FAF and more like a Resistor. I also tried the Crave, but again too much HSS. Been digging the Servo though. It pairs well with the Tesla. For fairways I bag a Relay, 2 Servos (1 Neutron 165g + 1 Plasma 172g), and a Resistor.
