Thanks for pointing that out lol |
There honestly aren’t that many really long courses in dfw. Fritz park has a couple long holes, veterans has a couple, towne lake has a couple but not really a championship level course I would say in this area. He would have to go out to selah ranch or harry Myers in Rockwall to get that kind of golf. He’s also still been playing less than a month. My guess is he’s using dashes track to learn course management. Yes they are shorter holes but they’re quite technical, I have played dashes track a couple times. He’s also been testing out different discraft drivers the past couple days. My guess is field work is still his main priority but he’s learning course management on the side.

Just checked his Instagram, looks like he’s still training with Emerson as well. They were at Old Man memorial park in Lewisville, which is also not really a long course, more technical. Host to a few tournaments out of the year by Dynamic

:| I seriously don't understand why anybody would want him to fail. I mean, I guess, other than the usual "my local courses are already too crowded" crowd... My answer to them is still the same... "Then go out and help more courses get built." Personally, I'm not a fanboy. I never watched a single Brodie vid until he did the 2 with Paul and Simon and those are still the only ones I have watched. My interest in this is selfish. If he succeeds, then we have another player competing at the top level, which can only improve my/our viewing. If he fails, maybe one of his younger viewers takes up the sport and becomes the next Paul/Simon/whoever... Seems like a win/win to me. |

I don't want him to fail. I don't want anyone to fail who tries to do well. For me, the closest comparison is Tebow playing baseball. I don't want him to fail. But, I'm sure not rooting for him to succeed. |
I don't want him to fail I just don't think he's going to be a top rated player this year and maybe longer.

Brodie doesn't even read my DMs

Well how can he not be a DGCR fan favorite now? |
Lots of shades of blue there.

none of those courses are that long at all, even Harry Myers (which is definitely IN dfw). i'd say the longest courses are probably Turner, Arcadia, and North Lakes up in Denton. seems like a good more to focus on the shorter game though. it's gotta be a relative small percentage of holes on tour that require a 450' drive. and probably a good percentage of those are wide. |
ahh, i just remembered the some of the new holes at Fritz. there are a couple long ones but they're just not good holes.

That rating seems really low but if it means no back-ups then I'm all for it. I can get a full round in and back to the house in 60-70 minutes. I carry a small bag with no drivers, the wind only effects a few open holes, benches on most holes, lots of RHFH off the tee. For a guy just learning the game who already has decent power from his ultimate background, it's a perfect for what he wants to focus on. |

His form looks a little off, but he makes up for it in arm speed. In other news Waco Open has a spot reserved for him in MPO. Will be interesting to see if he actually plays. https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/44144 |
Shoulder dominate reach back on somewhat of a wide rail.
There have been a few world championships won with that form. It will get crisper by the start of the season I bet. |

He could throw 600 for all we care and piss it all away on the putting green.
|
He does have an ultimate background tho. When I started playing catch with a Sky-styler (freestyle lid very similar to the Ultrastar) my putting game MASSIVELY improved. Huge difference honestly. I think his background is going to make learning putting easier than for most other players
|
They start out focusing on easy to throw neutral/understable discs, then circle back to it. I think marketing has them pushing starter packs. (Also I'm sure Brodie's channel is mostly non-discgolfers.) |
|
Seems like he's got that 20-25ft spin putt down. Kinda looks like Simon's, no?... and yea I know it was probably edited 8 times but I was just referring to the trajectory not that he made a couple on a vid. A lot of newer player have a lot of loft in the putting but he's already got it pretty flat. Give him a couple months to get the muscle memory going and I would expect it to flatten out even more with better velocity...
