I bag three, a DX for turnovers and tailwinds, Pro for straight and slight hyzer and a Glow Champ for s-shots and sidearm. It is my go to driver off the tee for accuracy and control.

This was dropped off at my desk this morning. A win win scenario with the off chance there was actually a pizza inside.

You win for coolest shipping box ever.

PhillyMatt 11-14-2013 02:39 PM

I will be selling my entire collection this weekend of gazelles.

There's about 50 circle stamps, 4 bar stamps, 4 field dressed and some unique ones like a flying eye, a grange stamp. And one 11x.

Several circle stamps are mint. There's two black ones, one mint with a rainbow stamp. Couple rare hot pink ones, a very rare purple one, etc.

Prices will range from about $35 to $6 shipped.

Just a heads up if anyone is wanting any

You know I'm in, brother. You just doing it as a thread on the MP, or are you giving us Gazelle lovers fair warning so we can get in early? If you want to presell like Matt said, PM me too. I'll at least take a few off your hands.

This disc brings back some memories. Back when it was just DGA Blowflies,Lightning,Innova and some Discraft around here I threw Gazelles.

I had a DX from 1994 that I still own :D and a pretty sweet KC Pro Gazelle that was beefy. Was the perfect combo for Fairways.

I love going back in time with these threads. :D

Monkeypaws 11-14-2013 09:35 PM

I have one Gaz, and I love it - DX 170. It beat in quickly, but it can still fight mild wind. It just goes straight, and pretty far with little effort. Gazelle and Banshee are two great fairway molds that beat into useful flyers, much like the Teebird.

Curtis_Valk 11-14-2013 10:06 PM

I recently added a Pro Gazelle to my bag and loved it so much I ordered two more from the proshop as backups. I also ordered one of the DX stamped champs and a star just out of curiosity.

So now that Matt is out of the running, who has the biggest Gazelle collection? I don't know if he had the most or not, but he definitely had more than I do. I have 40 of them total, but not all of those are collectors.

jsc430 11-20-2013 04:53 PM

That i know of...Eco81. I know some dudes on FB have a bunch too but i'm not sure exactly how many.

b-mart 11-20-2013 05:27 PM

Yeah I figured he'd be up there.

Picked up a max weight Gaz in dx a few weeks ago. Wished I had a few years ago, these are pretty sweet.

This summer I decided to disc down on my fairways and it's starting to pay off. I can throw Teebirds and Eagles fine but I noticed they punish me with an early fade if I don't give them enough. My Gazelle doesn't seem to do that, and I am getting the same distance as my faster fairways.

I really am surprised that no one around here throws them, they are a pretty sweet disc.

How do the pro shop pro's and the cfr glows fly? I really like the flight in dx, I just know it won't last forever. If the glows beat to pretty straight and the pro's are just more durable but beat in like dx I would be happy. Not interested in the cfr's if they are beefy, I throw a beefier teebirdish Polaris for more stable shots.

Curtis_Valk 06-30-2014 12:07 AM

I also found that slower discs do me well. DX and Pro Leopards and a Pro Gazelle are in my bag for sure.

The cfrs are more beefy when new but they beat to straight very well. I pretty much only throw glos now and I keep 2 in the bag occasionally a third with the 2nd and 3rd solely begin thrown on second tee shots(practice) for wear.

Any field dressed gazelles? :) if so I am your man for a quick sale!

BogeyNoMore 07-12-2014 10:33 PM

Can't believe I'd never even tried throwing a Gazelle before today. That was a mistake..complete [email protected], for never trying it before. :wall:

Not claiming it's the greatest disc ever, but it's particularly well suited to my throwing style/armspeed. Loving what I did with it today.

E_Rock25 07-12-2014 11:25 PM

Oh man thus three makes me want to throw them again. Almost the same range as my buzz though. Idk man gazelle is a sick disc. I got stacks of them still

Mr. Butlertron 07-13-2014 04:56 PM

I bought a pair of star gazelles in the mid 150s at I've been practicing with for about two months. Maybe they're better in heavier weights, but I just don't have a use for mine. They are a little too finicky when thrown with more than 60% power.

Mr. Butlertron 07-13-2014 05:00 PM

Are Star and DX totally different? What does everyone on here prefer?

I have loved the KC Pro gazelles for a while, specifically the 11X. Yesterday I threw a new DX gazelle in the field for the first time and WOW. Still plenty stable, but the glide was insane. And the fade is much less pronounced. It flew past every other driver I tossed in the field that day.

b-mart 07-13-2014 11:24 PM

Looks like people are rediscovering this disc. Good. I've been throwing the same DX one for about a year now, and it's still holding up. Once you beat DX in (which doesn't take long), it takes forever to beat it past useability. I always carry at least one DX (just added a fresh one just because it's brighter in color) and a Jolly Launcher. The JL is much beefier, but it fits in nicely between my DX and a Banshee. The Gazelle is the only disc other than Leopards that I throw backhand off of the tee.

I got a somewhat beat DX Gazelle as a "bonus" in a trade, and that's exactly how I'd describe it... just flippy enough for me to turn over a bit, but does so in a nice, controlled fashion, and get a full flight pattern, and just went (a surprising amount of glide), finishing with a fairly soft fade. Seemed much longer than I can throw a Tee Bird, and about as far as I can throw most distance drivers.

If I back off just a bit, it goes nice and straight, with a gentle fade. Just received a *GZ that I'll try later today... curious to see what it throws like. :)

PhillyMatt 07-14-2014 08:40 AM

Are they making a gstar gazelle?

Insanely different.

<170g DX gazelles were always my favorite

besides 11x of course, which is the best gazelle

b-mart 07-14-2014 03:53 PM

I'm curious about the Star ones too. I have three of them, but have only thrown two. The two F2s that I've used are pretty flat and fade harder (like JL does). I have a regular Pro Shop one that's domier, but I don't need it yet so it's just sitting in a box somewhere with about 52 other Gazelles...

TheBMeistor 07-15-2014 12:21 AM

So what are you Gazelle throwers pairing with them for understable stuff? I can get my beat DX Gaz to do nice turnovers from anny but not from flat. Thinking the answer is Leopard (Pro?) but just curious what else people are throwing with them.

bogeyfreetilinfinity 07-15-2014 12:39 AM

cheetah is the answer for this

Another Gazelle. :D

The 2002 CE CFR runs were domey and turn alot easier, so for me, that, and an 11X and you cover just about any shot in the range.

PhillyMatt 07-15-2014 03:35 PM

You don't need to spend $50+ to get a domey gazelle lol

I've got 5 of those CE ones  If people are paying $50 a pop for them I may be willing to sell.
