Looks like a narrow band that should blow through quickly.

Have a beer Nate. :D

Calls every good shot like itís a 700í ace.

Today's scores, as well as tee times for tomorrow's final round for MPO on the Fox Run Meadows course have been posted!

McCready 09-05-2020 06:34 PM

This has become one of my favorite tournaments to watch. Youíve got two contrasting types of courses and both are compelling in their own way. Brewster is a tough wooded course, but not unfair by any means. Tough enough that -18 seems unobtainable but a course record -13 can be had if someone is consistently hitting lines. Fox Run has the wide open fairways with contrived OB lines that we all complain about, but itís good on TV and offers a contrast to the tight wooded holes. So 4 rounds where the winner has to demonstrate distance, accuracy, endurance and strategy. Love me some GMC.

adamgservo 09-05-2020 09:44 PM

Jones shot 1081, 1091 the last 2 rounds. Wow. Will be really fun to see if he can hold off Paul and Eagle tomorrow.

Trust me, this is coming from someone who absolutely loathes disc golf on ball golf courses and other wide open layouts. I canít even stand watching the coverage of those tournaments, itís just so B-O-R-I-N-G. Basically the same wide open distance shots over and over and over, and with no penalty for being off your line. Fox Run couldnít be any further from that.

Yeah, even the whites are tough in calm conditions. Shot a +7 with 6 birds, 3 pars and the rest bogey or double. Went OB 10 times, and one of my birds (Hole 7 the Par 5) was with an OB stroke. Started -2 thru 2 and then went OB long on 3. Here's to hoping for a better day than my first round (+10) on Brewster, and a bunch of wind.

I like all 4 players on lead card but really hope KJ can take it because I think it would mean maybe he has found that final round mental toughness that can be so elusive. This sport is much more exciting with several top players.

I don't think he can take it easy though because any one of those guys is capable of a course record tomorrow. So is Ricky.

Should be great to watch!! Most scenic course I've ever played. Video doesn't do it justice.

Flick Maniac 09-06-2020 10:43 AM

Is the last round live on YouTube? Whats the link?

BogeyNoMore 09-06-2020 10:58 AM

Sorry guys... slacking a bit today.:D

Orioles_Lefty 09-06-2020 02:13 PM

Paul heard Calvin was wearing the 1980s glasses, so he decided to go Lime green with horizontal stripes with Zubaz long sleeves.

I’m too old and too square to know what is being worn ironically and what’s not.

It was hard to notice his face, cuz you just couldn't help be focus on those huge, square , red specs.

So was Calvin just rocking those specs for the 1st tee shot? Cuz I haven't seen them since.

BogeyNoMore 09-06-2020 02:28 PM

Most useful thing I've heard from Nate his when he pointed out where in the mountains Smuggler's Notch is.

Maybe he lost a bet, or Big Jerm put him up to it. That shape of glasses has made a comeback in pro cycling, so maybe he was testing them out. Who knows.

BogeyNoMore 09-06-2020 03:28 PM

I don't think the rock on #9 was in McBeth's way as much as Nate and Jamie thought, but ...

HUGE drive and putt from KJUSA!

A dominating performance!!! Congrats KJUSA!!!

Jolt 09-06-2020 05:04 PM

Insane score spread. . Paige P is 48 throws ahead of Paige S !! . . and Paige S won Worlds here
( and KJ had 37 throws better tham her husband )

pearlybakerbest 09-06-2020 05:10 PM

there is a lot of OB so that really increases the granularity of the scores.

Torpedo Vegas 09-06-2020 05:13 PM

How tall is Hailey King? My wife thinks that she is very tall but I think she just looks taller because she is very thin.

Jones beat DGCR Bad Boy Joey by an average of 27 throws per round. That's more a split than a spread.

BogeyNoMore 09-06-2020 07:09 PM

Kudos to Hailey for a valiant battle, and mashing it off the tee on #18, even after Paige's tee shot basically closed the door... just a beautiful **** with turn and great flex back.

She basically gave Pierce all she could handle, and given some of her margins of victory, that's really saying something. No one else was even close.

Hope we get to see more of her for years to come.

Re KJUSA: I hope this win helps Kim study his nerves next time he's got a lead in the final round. I honestly think just knowing you've "been there, done that" before can help you handle the situation.

BogeyNoMore 09-06-2020 07:17 PM

Good on Philo for finishing in the Top 10 among a bunch of young guns.

Tiny. Like 5'nothing.

However, everyone is tiny to me, so I could be wrong.

Nova P 09-06-2020 10:25 PM

Calvin's shades reminded me of Jane Badler in V.

Jane wears 'em better. <3

Paige Avg over a 1000 again. .but itīs interesting to see that her Avg is over 50 points better at Fox run than on Brewster

Jolt 09-07-2020 02:23 AM

I must say that i think the stats on hole 7 is strange. .

R4. . .6,09Avg. . .74 OBs and only 3 Birdys

The fairway is not THAT small. . 74 OBs is ONE round!!

Surely the best players in the world should be able to throw 350ft+350ft+350ft+180ft drop in?! and hit that fairway..
I just donīt get the gameplan, looks like everybody goes for the Birdy and fails. . .WHY??

I just donīt get the gameplan, looks like everybody goes for the Birdy and fails. . .WHY??

Two possible explanations:

1. When most courses call a hole a par 5, it really should be a par 4. The TD or designer just wants to see "eagles". Players are accustomed to thinking that on par 5, the score they should expect is 4, so that's what they plan to do. However, on this course all the pars were set correctly to actually be the score an expert would expect (except #6 where players expect a 2), so going for 4 is not a good plan.

2. The fairway is about 85 to 125 feet wide. Call it 100. Players at this level can land their disc within plus or minus 50 feet off-line about two-thirds of the time on a 350-foot throw. A frequently used design principle is that players of the targeted skill level should meet the challenge on each throw about two-thirds of the time. That's where a throw is both fair and challenging. Since it takes three 350-foot throws, each player has a 70% chance (1- .66^3) of going OB at least once.

I'm not sure how much each possible explanation comes into play, but I would bet it's more 2 than 1.
