It looks EXACTLY like Chameleon. I didn’t think that the “EYETALIAN” plastic was in use beyond the MD3 and DD3, currently.
A few pages back, though, there was a comment about the Italian plastic pellets (why that’s actually a selling point is odd - Italy isn’t known for petrochemicals) finding their way to the Latitude facility. Just making sure. Thanks all! |
Is it reasonable to assume that all the molds that Latitude 64 is making for Discmania, as well as the molds made by Yikun for Discmania, are owned by these companies, while Discmania owns the names?
So, if Discmania eventually moves to manufacturing all their own discs, they will have to re-create the new molds like the Tactic and Tilt, just as they are doing now with the Innova produced original Discmania molds. Or, in the case of the Lat64 molds at least, Discmania could seek to buy the actual molds, which may be possible, since they apparently use the same line of manufacturing equipment that Lat64 does. |
I was in the Dynamic Discs store and the clerk said that most Trilogy molds have a seam on the underneath, vertically down, front tip of the wing (Defender is an exception). Innova molds have the seam sticking horizontally out of the pointy wing edge.
Which will the new Discmania drivers use? That might give hints about manufacturing. |

By 2019, when the DM-Lat64 partnership was announced, DM was likely already planning for the creation of the new factory. The most likely scenario is that they entered into the partnership with Lat64 with the understanding that a transition to in-house production was the end goal. The location of the DM factory in the same town as the Lat64 factory suggests a high degree of partnership in setting up the new production facilities. |

If you aren’t part of the solution then you’re part of the problem. (Just kidding. Sort of.) |

Are they having trouble in manufacturing? Because it's been a long time and we're not seeing discs.

For purposes of those who don't want to click on the link, according to the update, their top priority, producing the big P2 stock production run, seems to be going well. Otherwise, they seem to be hitting their current production targets, with two exceptions. The two issues they mention are: - They would like to have more machines up and running, but actually getting the machine parts to bring new machines on line is not happening as quickly as they would like. As they don't produce machine parts, that's not really their issue in the way that, say, their existing machine(s) producing out-of-spec plastic would be. - Delays in stock production runs of the Tilt and the Splice. Does anyone have one of the meta Tilts? Are they stamped as Lat64 produced? It wouldn't surprise me if delays in those are really just the same kind of delays they were experiencing with Innova. Having more machines in their own factory will be the ultimate solution to this, I would think. |

I throw a Trust right now and it fights turn very very well, but doesn’t fade quite as much as I’d like. If the MD3 is safe to go 300’ into a mild headwind without holding turn, that would be sweet. |

Hmmm. At 3500' elevation I see no turn now, and imagine maybe very beat in (like year/2 old) it would turn a small amount, but I put it closer to the roc3 category of discs that will always be a touch overstable for the lesser powered rather than flippy. Now at sea level I could see a little turn where you may need to add a bit of hyzer, but it would probably still fade a bit at the end. I haven't thrown the Trust, but from the numbers it seems like maybe these two are similar? Not the ideal response haha |

still some Mutants available here if anybody is looking |
Cannot wait for a Splice finally. Likely kick out the Fortress in my bag.
edit: AND the FD3 |
Hey Discmania - Any plans to make the Essence in weights < 165 grams? 150s would be even better, from my perspective.
Thanks! |
