I saw that today, too! I know I could buy a bunch and be covered for a long time, but I like the idea of not needing a bag-full of backups for something that's OOP. Like, ideally, I'd have a couple backups, and no concerns about being able to buy a couple more in the more distant future. (Especially if I move to a different mold, then I'm not stuck with a shelf full of discs to sell.)

Maybe that's weird...I dunno. I'm just a guy who wants the future of the world, however bleak it may be, to include new runs of PPDs.

Flick Maniac 05-29-2019 11:21 AM

I have a bag full of rarities. I used to worry about backups, but now Im more cest la vie about them. I have 1-3 backups at most and going to worry about that if I lose any. Which happens pretty rarely. Also its not a 100% given I will still be in love with any of the molds in 5 years.* Its plastic, and while super duper lovely plastic, still just plastic.

*I used to also think someday my bag would be "complete/ready" and thus set in stone. Yeah, right.

That's exactly how I've been thinking. And your post makes me realize that that's kind of silly.

+100 internet points to you, sir! You just made someone on the internet change their mind about something.

Actually, as I have gotten older, my bag and game have changed less. Thus, I'm stocking up on my favorites...

Flick Maniac 05-30-2019 04:00 PM

Less, yes. But still changing. Change is life.

Instead of starter pack challenge, the Discmania team should do a mystery box challenge.

Flick Maniac 06-03-2019 01:10 PM

Two dudes in my club once showed up for one of our trips out of town with mystery boxes as their bags. Literally. They had quad shocks hooked up to the cardboard boxes directly :D

Has anyone seen anything other than max weight dd3s for sale? I'd like to try one, but I don't throw max weight anything.

Been looking for this myself....Very frustrating

broomerang 06-04-2019 07:26 AM

I don’t believe they ran anything lower than max weight DD3 in the first batch.

Second batch coming out later this month. Hopefully some in there for us.

Flick Maniac 06-04-2019 08:21 AM

InnovaStore had loads of other weights too. Not going to help you US guys anymore but certainly they were run. Jussi even suggested lower weights for less stability. I have 175 and 168 and perhaps a smidge of difference, although shape is 1:1

Gmtata01 06-04-2019 08:55 AM

DD3

Iíve seen a few 170 and 171s but not many and nothing below 170

fishballer06 06-04-2019 11:37 AM

From what I was told, only dealers got the sub 175 DD3's. So unless you know a dealer or store, your chances of getting a lighterweight one were very slim on this run.

DiscyBusiness 06-04-2019 11:47 AM

On 1010discs I got a 167g and 168g the day they came out. The lighter ones definitely went quickly.

thursdaddy 06-07-2019 02:47 AM

The lighter weights appear to have a bit more dome than the max weight from my sample size.

I have 6 DD3's in total...

1 CloudBreaker @ 176.2
1 @ 169 (170)
4 @ 175 (174.7, 175, 175.7, 176.8)

All are white and the CB is a lighter colored "swirl".

My CB is 176.2 and after a fair amount of abuse has developed a very controllable turn with nice glide.. The lightest one has the most dome and from my experience flies like a nicely beat in CB while the new max weight DD3's seem to fly similar to a brand new CB.

I've replaced the CB with the lightweight DD3 for peace of mind and because the CB was hard to find in the AZ desert landscape. I've paired a lightweight one with a more stable max weight one I think its going to provide consistent and reliable results. Can't wait to get these things beat in and start cycling them into the bag..

Wonder who complained about SLine. Gimme a name.

Hey this was addressed a few pages back, but I would really like to know about any updates. The website at last look said July 2019 for a prod run.

Even for us, there was like 90 of them out of the thousands dropped for us. Gone in 2 minutes on the light weights so very hard to get.

I'd recommend they make maybe 20-25% in sub-175 for max rim drivers, and 5% or less on putters. I think the sub-175 were 2% or less on this production run

Agree but it should probably be 50% or higher for drivers and fairways. At least 20% under 165 and 30% 165-174.

The only molds Iím really looking for max weight on are putters, mids, and wind only discs. Iíd much rather have 1 175 PD2 and 3 lighter ones. Same for DD3, FD3, CD3/2 etc.

I think 50% is too high, you'd be surprised how long a 168 CD2 sits on my shelf before someone finally grabs it. Months and months. "Max weight" is still king by a wide margin. Sold thousands of drivers - people like to think they are much more powerful than they really are

krooster 06-18-2019 12:19 AM

Thanks for running P2's in the soft p-line plastic.

Any chance that there will be more P1's run in soft p-line? It's darn near indestructible but my greatest fear is losing one and not being able to get a replacement since I use them for most of my putter drives (and upshots and putts).

B The V 06-19-2019 06:17 AM

I have an old maniac stamped p1 that is very soft. Hit me up if you are interested.

Flick Maniac 06-19-2019 02:30 PM

Yeah those things of old are like R-pro.

Alexplz 06-21-2019 01:09 PM

Any news on the prod run of Royal Rages?

ArtemisClydFr0g 06-25-2019 09:52 AM

Will we see another run of the P1x in S-line (or swirly)? I picked up a swirly P1x a while back and it's been my main approach disc for a while. The S-line keeps it reliably stable even in headwinds, but it never really fades. Would love to see it in regular S-line too.

Also, when is the next run of [stiff] P-line P2s? Stock seems to have dried up for the most part. I see the randoms left on a handful of websites, but not much of a selection.

midairmatthew 06-25-2019 12:21 PM

Hey Discmania. I love your way. I wanna tell you I love your way, I wanna be with you night and day.

Anyway, please please please consider doing more runs of P-Line PDs. I have two in the bag and two fresh ones hanging out in a safe, undisclosed location...but they beat-in fast and I'm hoping to keep this relationship going.

I, and others, countless yearning others, would love the opportunity to buy a bunch more.

Also, did you know Peter Frampton's middle name is Kenneth? I just found out when I googled the lyrics. #tmyk

I have enough, thank you. I like the P lines, they just take a lot longer to beat in than D line would. I have actually been pretty amazed at how long it has taken to beat the one in I throw.

DiscinFiend 06-28-2019 10:42 AM

C-Line DD3s please

Hey it's been a month since the last post, there are 3+ pages of questions on here... would appreciate an answer as to when we can expect a production run of FD2 RRs to drop.

Thanks for what you do, I'm sure you guys are busy this time of year.

Totally understandable and we feel the same way, though it didnít seem that way. We were able to make a speedy second batch of S-Line DD3 much faster than expected (Innova came through with flying colors. ALL of our hats off to them for making that happen, seriously) But these just needed to be heavy to speed things along and keep moving. You can expect that when the third batch arrives there will be plenty of lower weights for everyone.

I believe the only disc online at the moment that doesnít have lower weights are the DD3s. Some things like the remainder of the S and C-Line DD perhaps are all we have left.

The P-Line plastic in drivers will not be made again unfortunately. Thereís always a chance for something Mystery Box related at some point but even that chance is rather slim. G-Line as well will not be an option in the future.

Stiff P2: Very soon. These have been made but not yet received.

P1x: Unlikely. Most plastics in this disc other than the D-Line arenít very popular. Itís a great disc for sure but a bit of a risk to make an S-Line one or Swirl.
Keep an eye out for the Link. You may or may be thrilled with this one. :)

I wish that Peter Frampton made a Discmania song and then we can talk. Unfortunately P-Line drivers wonít return. Sorry about that. Hopefully weíll have a good substitute for you in the near future that you like even more.

This. I LOVE the combo of the instinct and RR. I was absolutely skeptical of speed 7s but after having multiple 450' throws with both these, I have even dropped my PDs! Just awesome in a way no other combo has been since the old SE Leopard and SE teebird (very first TL).

krooster 06-30-2019 03:21 PM

I take back what I said about wanting more P1's in soft p-line. I picked up an x-line P1X, and it's everything I wanted the P1 to be. More comfortable in the hand and I think it's even more neutral when powered down. I can see why it's more popular than the P1!

-3k3- 07-01-2019 02:25 AM

Any new bags in the works? Or other accessories? I saw the Sportsacks, those were cool.
