Checked out the Perfect Putt 360 app, because it did look handy. Was a little surprised to see a price tag of $3. I wanted it but it looked so basic and is just a score keeping app, I couldn't justify the price.

So out of boredom I made this in less than a couple hours. Functionality is all there just need some polish to look a little nicer. Can provide a link for .apk if someone's interested.

Challenges have definitely peaked.....

I can't believe the 360 app is $3.00 and we're playing DG Valley for free...

Looks like he added oat to his form that is causing his discs to fly less stable

I saw something the other day. If the app is free you are the product. Something to consider.

Well... I can tell you one thing: this game is not gonna convince me to buy a Musket, and it ain't gonna tell Lat anything about my disc selection. ;) :) But.. probably true. What data does this game grab?

wolfhaley 04-14-2020 02:17 PM

The Musket is actually a good disc. I downloaded the game but haven't tried it yet. Maybe on break at work today.

Agreed, plus add in a pinch of rounding and strong arming as well. Could be a possible side effect of not playing with pros anymore. His short game and putting still looks very good though.

mizunodave 04-15-2020 07:58 AM

Ratings update from yesterday put Brodie to 960 with 3 rated rounds.

disco40 04-15-2020 08:39 PM

What is he throwing at about 5:35, on the really short wooded hyzer hole #13? Z FLX Zone or something?

Its a tour series gloZ Zone I think. Can't remember who's disc it is though...

Actually, he says what it is in the front9 vid. Chandler Fry Z Zone.

Thanks! That thing had a lot of glide even after fading very sharply early, like it should have dumped but didn't. Looked very appealing.

I just input Brodie's round in the scorebook here and got 1056... Not an overly hard course but he had to make several good putts to shoot that -10

I like that part at the end of vid2 where he's briefly shows his form and notices his bad foot placement.

Looking at PDGA results from earlier this year a -10 would have been around 1055 as well.

BigFlickLuke 04-20-2020 04:18 PM

Granted, it's not tournament play- but if Brodie would have come out and said he would be shooting thousand rated rounds before May, people would have doubted him. Impressive.

wims 04-20-2020 07:28 PM

This was not a rated round

There are a couple shorter holes but also some 350-450

wolfhaley 04-23-2020 12:54 AM

That was a crazy roller he threw on 15 I think it was. He keeps getting better and better.

Bigtex 04-23-2020 11:04 PM

Brodie on the most recent foundation DG podcast is worth a listen/watch. If you need a laugh, the last hour is worth checking out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AodJFxcLniM

Hole 13 at McCord is only 240 or so but has water along the right side and a wide drainage ditch about 15-18 feet in front of the basket. An all-air FH ace would have likely flown right into the water if it didn't hit the basket.

Still counts tho

I always thought that most aces are usually bad shots that the basket just got in the way of.

That's exactly what Climo says. There's a YouTube interview with Gregg Hosfeld (I think, might be with Feldberg) of him saying he'd rather use his driver as a putter - he wants to mark his lie and just drop the driver in the basket.

brutalbrutus 05-01-2020 02:38 PM

There are both bad shots where the basket gets in the way and people intentionally trying to get an ace and succeed. Whether it be a hole where a spike hyzer is the preferred shot so you don't necessarily have to worry about the disc being outside of putting range if you make a run, or holes that have a backstop so you can rip one at it and still be more or less parked.

wolfhaley 05-01-2020 05:04 PM

I run anything I can potentially ace. I only ace when I'm not running it though.

brutalbrutus 05-02-2020 06:44 PM

DARKHORSE!!!! Ace #2 and Kelsey was here this time! As soon as I threw it I knew it had a chance.
Hole #16 at McCord Park. All air forehand this time with my jawbreaker zone! It was about the same distance, 240ft! If you were out here you probably heard the screams!

wolfhaley 05-02-2020 07:59 PM

They come in bunches.

DiscFifty 05-03-2020 11:50 AM

As much as I like Brodie's content.. I take everything he does on his channel with a grain of salt. He is first a person trying to make a living from revenue as a youtube content provider. So when he says "ace", unless it was a live video, I'm wondering how many takes it took. lol..

Hampstead 05-03-2020 12:03 PM

Cubbie Smith

TheOtherBill 05-03-2020 09:21 PM

McCord #16 is almost exactly the same throw as #13. It also has a hillside back-stop to prevent the ace run from getting too far away. I play a skip shot off the hill in front. I've hit the underside of the basket before and saw a drive bounce off the top just the other day.
Not much reason to take multiple shots at McCord. It plays fast so you can just go around again.
Plus Cubby, god bless him, did not try to make a living off playing disc golf...would be a bad look for Brodie to count mulligans as aces.
