New 2.2 cm Defy (or deny?)

For some reason Pdga has it listed as both deny and defy? Go figure.

Defy looks fairly straight-stable, between the Wave and Photon, I assume.

Defy Logic by Axiom

The Defy disc by Axiom Discs was PDGA Approved on 4-21-2016.

"Introducing the Defy, a straight-stable 21.5mm distance driver from Axiom Discs. The Defy will be straight for a wide range of players and situations. For tailwinds and lower powered players, the Defy’s overstable nature will come out. For light headwinds and higher powered players, the Defy will fly some remarkably straight and s-curve lines. As a 21.5mm class GYRO™ driver, the Defy is designed to hit a midpoint of stability between two MVP Disc Sports models, the Photon and Wave. The Defy will debut in grippy opaque dual-color Neutron plastic, soon to be followed by dual-color candy Proton plastic." - by Axiom Discs

Now I really don't give a rip about the name. Gimme gimme gimme!

Any guesses on release date? I need this.

No one's gonna point out that that's not an Axiom disc in the photo?

a) Black rim
b) Overmold too skinny for a driver

Methinks that's the Matrix.

Edit: Maybe not the Matrix, since that's supposed to be Proton right? Either way, don't think it's the Defy.

I just assumed that:
a; they ran it with a black rim to make things easier on themselves or b; Axiom will now have black rims and swirly plastic. The white rim on the Vanish would seem to discredit the latter theory, but either way I'm not too worried.

The rim looks right for a driver to me. Compare it to the quarter in the lower right corner of the photo. The scale seems right.

Could be. Tough to say on the rim width. I was comparing to the screen cap above (in which the discs are obviously computer-generated, but still). And I did see that the Thrill approval photo also has a black rim, so maybe that's how they do their approval protos? Not sure.

Maybe we should ask the photographer who decided to make such a prominent cameo in the picture here.

^ lol I didn't even notice that before.
