I had a dream

Last night, I had a dream about an epic disc golf tournament/ music festival. Everyone would get up in the morning and play a round or two, then the music and festivities started later in the evening. Everyone camped on site, and it seemed like the coolest thing ever. Has anyone ever been to a disc golf tournament/ music festival? I know I've heard of festivals with a disc golf course.. But I'm talking like a PDGA sanctioned event, that also allowed players to camp on site and enjoy music in the evening. Does this type of thing exist? would you go to one if they did exist??

oh wow . yeah. I've heard of Bear creek that is held at this site. the disc jams is an Unsanctioned event, but still pretty sweeet.

I know they run sanctioned events there too, not sure if they couple them with music or not. The next sanctioned event is Jan 26/27.

Depends on the scale you're talking about. A disc golf tournament is 50, 100 people, maybe more with multiple courses at the same location. A music festival needs thousands, maybe tens of thousands, of people. At those scales it's hard to see things melding together.

Many courses have camping. Trophy Lakes is one of them, and one year they had an on-site band for a players party at a tournament.. I don't know how that worked out. But if you call a band playing for a couple of dozen of listeners a festival, there you are.

Other tournaments have off-course players parties with a band.

If you drop the music festival part, tournaments with on-course camping have a mellow party festival feel.

Horning's Hideout has music festivals, but the bigger shows, like String Cheese Incident and NW String Summit, cause the courses to be closed as the fairways have to be used for camping and parking. Other festivals, like the Raindance benefit, are small enough that the courses can remain open.
