I'm doing the same thing. My hard judges are money but they are getting beat up. Gonna be a fusion judge vs opto pure driving putter deathmatch.

Thats what I'm working on right now. I think the Pure is longer however.

You're going to be jealous in a few minutes...

tbird888 06-01-2013 08:35 PM

Didn't even think I'd get mine today. Glad I checked the mail today.

The first one.

And my favorite of the two.

Those... Aren't the prettiest multicolors I've ever seen.

How do they feel?

Osmo 06-03-2013 03:55 PM

Apparently USPS just like to scan things as delivered with no regard to the fact that they didnt deliver anything. Really piss poor service to scan things delivered if you were just to lazy to finish that days deliveries and left them on the truck for the next buisness day.

They came today, and my god the black is sexy.

certainly not a beauty but for a pure those are sexy. Pures dont have many natural beauties out there to oogle over. Id kill for those myself

They aren't the prettiest ever, no. The second pic is definitely better than the first. They are nice and firm and feel great. If you like Pures and firmer putters, these are what you would want to buy.

Jkosk 06-03-2013 04:57 PM

... I so badly want a black hard pure.

I check the Pure boxes everytime I go to GGGT in hopes of them being there.

I dont putt with pures anymore but maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan are those sexy looking!

Jkosk 06-03-2013 05:06 PM

How do the black feel compared to other Zero Hards (white in particular) Is it tackier at all?

Most black putters I have had in the past were tackier than their white counterparts.

FWIW I have a bunch of Classic Judges (30+) and the blacks have been slightly more tacky. It's the same plastic as Zero Hard.

Jkosk 06-03-2013 05:55 PM

Excellent...
Now to hunt me down some black Pures in the coming weeks...

vonDrehle 06-03-2013 07:30 PM

Do the hard ones fly and feel similar(stiffness) to the Opto?

Jkosk 06-03-2013 07:37 PM

Hard's are... well.. Hard. To elaborate, they are very stiff. Stiffer than any opto disc that I own, especially in the flight plate. The flight plate is has very, very little give. My 2 original Hard Pures are beginning to beat in a little bit, and I can flex the flight plate a lil more now than I could before, but not much...

Which is exactly how I like my putters. I hate gummy / soft putters. Even the stiffest Pro D Challengers were too soft for me, which is one reason I jumped all over Zero Hard Pures.

Jkosk 06-03-2013 07:43 PM

So TL;DR:

stiffer / less elasticity than Optos.

Opto's are a little more stable, in my experience.

Osmo 06-03-2013 07:48 PM

optos have that plasticy gummyness to them you expect from opto/gl plastics. zero hard has the porcelain (although not that hard) stiffness and hardness that you see in the KC Pro style plastics (although harder and stiffer IMO)

vonDrehle 06-03-2013 07:54 PM

Thanks, I will have to try some out. I like the feel of zero in the circle but prefer something stiff for longer putts because I can get better spin. Wouldn't mind something with better grip than the Opto.

vonDrehle 06-05-2013 10:11 AM

Just came across a Pure in material test run 2. Any chance that was the one they ended up going with for the hards?

Interesting, apparently while I was gone an entire plastic type came and went. I guess back in the garage she goes.

tbird888 06-05-2013 10:24 AM

Zero Hard is very different from TM2. Different feel and firmness.

blammo 06-05-2013 10:43 AM

What did people think of the Grip line Pures? Did grip line beat in like a Pro type plastic, or was it more like a star/esp that was pre-gold line?

Grip was officially a baseline plastic. Unique, so it's kind of hard to draw comparisons but think Elite X and you might get close.

the grip line, if i am correct, was a baseline plastic similar to the pro type plastic. with a shiney look unlike other baselines.

So it's more like a driver-style pro, like the Omega AP Big Beads (or Pro Leopards if you need a driver), than a putter pro?

it had a glossy coating like the pro leopards ive had.

mattw 06-05-2013 11:03 AM

My only problem with the grip line was that to me it was no where near grippy when wet. I always had a hard time with it in the rain or when the dew was realy thick.

keltik 06-05-2013 11:07 AM

Yes Grip line was more like "driver Pro" plastic. I think I am one of a handful of people that truly misses that plastic. But Gold Line is more profitable.

I hadn't realized. I am not a huge Aviar fan, but I love the feel of the new AP BBs. Not quite a Pure, but if you prefer driver Pro, check one out.

New signature Pure!

jrawk 06-07-2013 08:55 PM

Nice i want one... or seven.

Ted Bratton 06-07-2013 09:37 PM

I liked the feel of my buddies ZH Pure so I ordered one to try as a slightly understable approach putter and who knows maybe even some long putts. Excited to see how it flies after I beat it up a little.

Hoss22 06-08-2013 12:45 AM

I have a beat in zh. Love it! Throw it flat and it has a nice smooth turn to the right and keeps going and going. Doesn't burn into the ground, and also doesn't fade back unless I give it a lot of height or nose up.

vonDrehle 06-08-2013 01:06 AM

I like that they call it a celebration edition. My zero hard should arrive tomorrow I'm looking forward to see if it takes the long putt spot.

I don't care for the PDGA approved logo they put on the disc now.

Halcón 06-08-2013 01:37 AM

No offense to Weston Isaacs, but I bet he never thought he'd have his name on a disc. It's awesome that Lat is recognizing his win last year with this stamp.

HybridZombiw 06-08-2013 10:31 AM

i'd get a few of those celebration pures i like em.

bhadella 06-08-2013 08:49 PM

Absoluely loving my opto pure as my driving putter. Took over the role of multiple kc aviars (1 beat, 1 broken in, 1 fresh) as its so controllable and easy to huck. Only issue is the massive amount of distance and glide relative to my aviars. I'm having trouble dialing back the D on short 200-225 ft holes. Even thrown standstill and softly they are carrying long. How long did it take you to get used to the distance?

vonDrehle 06-08-2013 09:32 PM

Got my Zero Hard in today. It feels good I'm interested to see how she flies. Gonna have to toss it on concrete a few times first the bottom flashing is a bit sharp.
