Does the "new" DD2 actually show a -2 turn?

I think I've tried 2 DD2s over time and found both to be very HSS/LSS

edit: seems I posted twice (the second one got an edit)

(I know...no one has thrown one yet)

Is there any chance we see the Method released in the exo plastic?

G86baker 07-03-2020 10:58 PM

I love the Evolution line. I really think the new instinct looks good but I sure rather have a glow Essence! Hope to see that in a mystery box one day.

I was just curious where S-Line FDs are in your production cycle. Can we expect a restock of them anytime soon? I lost one of my two and I'm starting to get nervous since I can't seem to find them anywhere at the moment. I love the stuff you guys make but it's nerve-wracking anytime I lose something and can't find a replacement. Gotta have my S-FDs!

they are a bit pricy, but disc baron has some s line fd's.

Does anyone know if Discmania are planning on releasing anymore Echo S-line DD3's any time soon?

They haven't said (at least not here). Nobody from Discmania Support has been active since the Echo DD3 was released. Last post by them in this thread was from March.

I imagine they had their hands full trying to keep the business up and going during the whole Covid mess.

As for the Echo DD3, the two I picked up didn’t impress me much. I play at altitude and pretty much max out around 350’ so it could just be that.

I gave one of them to my nephew. He throws it pretty far and he does make it look pretty understable tossing it 450’.

I’m holding on to my last one until I can decide if I want to try it again or give it to him or maybe sell/trade it for something that suits my game better.

Flick Maniac 07-14-2020 01:40 PM

They said another run is not in the works, but if I were them I certainly would have already looked into getting them made since they would sell out instantly.

I looked for one 2 years ago for about 4 months and gave up, got an itch recently to try and find one, no dice. Came to this thread to see if there's any mention of them and I see it's still an unobtanium disc.

Local Play it Again Sports has an over abundance of mud colored Roaming thumpers, samuari chickens and whatnots but no FDs, think I'm giving up for good this time and just sticking with the Mantis.

ray1970 07-15-2020 10:23 AM

I’ve found S-line FD’s in stock at several places over the last couple of weeks. You might have to pay a little more though as some of them are from sites that do their own custom stamps or what not.

TKWolverine 07-15-2020 11:48 AM

What can you tell us about the newly-approved (as of July 14) Origin?

Try a TL3!

I'll 100% buy/ trade you for it.

Maybe not anytime soon, but it at least sounds like they'll come back at some point though, thankfully.

If I decide to part with it I’ll definitely give you first dibs. Still haven’t decided if I should try it out some more first.

Yeah I seen that, but after that I heard from probably the #1 source of things Discmania that unfortunately it wasnt to be. But who knows things may change. Until then I'm going to have a death grip on my three lol :D

I rely on my S-line FD so much it's ridiculous. I don't want to even think about how I would react to losing it.

Managed to find a couple more last month but they're the swirly more overstable run. Kicked the undertaker out of the bag, but not what I was looking for.

ray1970 08-16-2020 12:16 AM

I’ve used S-line FDs for about three years now. I have a small stack of them so I’m good for now but a few months ago I needed to add another disc to an online order to make it worth paying the shipping so figured I’d try a C-line.

While I’m usually not a big fan of the C-line plastic this FD is awesome. It’s like a longer, glidier version of my S-lines.

The one I got isn’t the hard, slick plastic but is that slightly softer and grippier C-line which I don’t mind.

This sounds awesome, and I totally plan to buy one when I can find one at 168g. I tried one in luster plastic and it's way more overstable than even my swirly S-line. Not at all what I was looking for.

discerdoo 08-16-2020 07:48 PM

I added a C-line to the bag today for day 2 of the Okie Doubles tournament. It did some work in the woods, mostly FH. Threw my swirly S-line and flippy S-line a couple times apiece too.

FDs rule, hopefully Discmania gets to drink from the Innova trough soon.

“The Cloud Breaker 2 is now SOLD OUT! Thank you to everyone for taking part in this insanely popular worldwide release. Have a great weekend and let 'em fly! We'll always improve the way we work and increase the numbers on the products you deserve, always.”

I am sorry but this feels hollow and disingenuous.

I have followed Discmania for a long time and for several releases the cart on the website has not worked as it does on other websites.

It is a simple fix to have items stay in a person’s cart for a few minutes to give them a chance to checkout, Yet Discmania refuses to implement this simple fix, there must be a reason. Please explain what’s the reason?

rallyguy 08-20-2020 07:57 PM

Or put a cap on how many discs a person can order at a time...I got a couple cloudbreakers today from a site that had a cap of two per order. It was actually nice to see they were trying to get these to as many different people as possible. I’m going to throw mine and see if they are the next great coming but they probably won’t kick my terns out of the bag.

This style of selling stuff and limited production(which I understand isn’t totally in their control) is what made me ditch the FDs from my bag. For me, I can’t justify 30-40 bucks for one disc when I play a lot of solo rounds on a fairly brushy home course.

They had a five disc limit so I guess they get partial credit for trying.

rallyguy 08-20-2020 09:28 PM

Better than nothing I guess...I didn’t look at their site because I know how crazy it gets with these releases. The resale prices on some of these on the discmania fb pages is insane already

This article explains the cart hold problem: https://www.discmania.net/blogs/disc...gmGyGt963TlGVE

The article that BTV posted does a good job of summing things up.

To add to that as someone who used to run an online sales website in another industry, I can tell you that a company cannot simply change their shopping cart system/website over night. It takes a ton of work to rebuild an entire website/inventory/cart that can take weeks/months to do. I truly believe Discmania cares about their customers and that they want to make things right to as many people as possible.

Eagle winning back to back tournaments immediately before the release and becoming the hottest player on the planet certainly probably played into this release, outside of just the normal Discmaniac's who are in on these releases.

ray1970 08-26-2020 02:47 PM

S-line FD’s back in stock if anyone needs any.

DiscyBusiness 08-26-2020 03:50 PM

Been throwing the Enigma a lot more the last couple months, so pretty excited for these guys:

this comment was in regard to the echo DD3. is this still happening this year? i'd imagine you're pretty backed up.

thanks!

Flick Maniac 09-09-2020 05:31 AM

I really really really REALLY REALLY doubt they make anymore Echo DD3s. For real. :D

Covid really threw a wrench in the works, I was told no more would be made, and now no more CB2's also have been reported not to be run. All that would suggest very strongly against more Echo DD3s.

ManU 09-09-2020 02:49 PM

swirl S line three tooled FD2?

I'd like a slightly more HSS version of the FD2

and while you are making orders with the mother ship how about another run of Swirl S line MD

The Origin is going to be the new MD :). No, it hasn't replaced it but people will enjoy these very much.

New Active line restock available today at the store and beginning to ship to retailers soon. A couple things to note:

- Sensei is flatter and likely a bit more grippy. Plastic is even better
- Mentor came out much cleaner. It'll fly how it's supposed to (aka not a meathook)
- The entire run of both base and premium Active discs are the best made so far out of the three total runs to date.

Discmaniacs! We're back at it on here. It's been a busy year and our apologies for not being more present in this thread. We'll do our best to monitor responses about once a week.

Sorry if you've already answered this, but can you talk to why you don't run more of your discs in P-line? It's such a great plastic to pair with an S- or C-line of the same mold. I'd personally love to see a P-PDx, and I know a lot of other people would go crazy over a run of P-line in their favorite mold(s).
