I too am anxious to hear of any p-fd developments. Rabble rabble rabble.

Justinpwheeler 11-18-2015 07:12 AM

Moved to Japan recently. Is there any chance of getting an FD or PD in 150 class???

walde 11-18-2015 08:32 AM

I think 150-class S-PD's have been made at some point but I have no idea where to get them. I'm sure someone can confirm this.

DinosaurThunder 11-18-2015 08:48 AM

Ask around on the Discmania FB group for 150 class PDs. My wife bags two and they are awesome! I know others have them.

The FD comes in 150 class in Lady Line plastic. I only know of two non lady line FDs that are 150 class and they were not supposed to leave the factory.

I finally played some in real wind yesterday and the PD2 is exactly what I was looking for. LONG hyzers or straight shots with a predictable fade with good penetration and they stayed on the line well. I was concerned throwing a disc with this much dome into the wind (especially the S lines or my color glows) but they did not seem to get the random drops/elevation changes that you often see with the dome. Just as predictable as my stiletto, and as long as my giants. Its officially replaced both, I am glad I tried them again (tried them years ago, but got 2nd(?) run absolute beefcakes that were no longer than Predators).

Yes, I believe you're talking about the 3rd run. They were very overstable. I'm glad our current run of PD2s bring the beef but not too much to be unusable!

yes sir!

I use a 2nd run FD/PD/PD2 before any hyzer flip shot, HSS all day long!

If you were to say why you throw that way, do you think there is an advantage to one way or the other?

There's a few of you out there, it's looking very promising that we'll release these items, but we don't have a date nailed down yet.

Just for my curiosity sake - what monster designs do you like and why?

I think most people here would agree that the flight you just explained is exactly what excites people about throwing discs. Or would you disagree?

C-LINE plastic is often more overstable. 2nd run C-LINE FDs are the beefy ones. FD2s created loosely on the concept of the 2nd run FD.

was a bit tongue in cheek there.

The C Line will be most stable, however people are very particular to their production runs. specifically 2nd run C FD are the most stable, but will set you back about 1.5 discs worth of dollars.

the FD2 was meant to be a more stable FD so people could have their 2nd run FD without the collector disc searching

Sounds like what I just typed up.

Thanks for the input. We're working on many things right now. Hopefully we'll be able to reveal all before spring!

We have looked into using New Era for hats. Our initial run last year was made of FlexFit hats which were very popular. We may have to dig a little deeper into the New Era research just for sake of our fans :)

I remember reading that the glow FDs were supposed to be quite a bit less stable than other plastics, but the three I have are pretty stable. I was hoping for something glidey and a bit flippy for uphill shots longer than a mid, rollers I could get down quickly, and of course, the dreaded long tunnel shot. Should I unload these and go for the g-line?

G-LINE and S-LINE would both probably fill the void you're looking for. We're working on the P-LINE FD now for a Discmania Store release. It also may be what you're looking for especially in the colder winter months.

Yes, depending on what type/run of the FD you're throwing it could range from the CD more like the overstable C-LINE FD, to a CD2 which is more like the point and shoot C-LINE FD, or even to a C-LINE TD or S-LINE TD. The TD is an interesting disc in our lineup, if you are a hyzerflip thrower we highly recommend giving the TD a shot. For a while there were a few pros that were using a 165-169 S-LINE TD that would fill the hyzer to flat then slowly glide right. If that shot is in your bag we highly recommend the TD and TD2.

Try also a G-CD2, they are pretty long and straight.

I almost forgot about the G-CD2, it certainly fills the void between the C-CD2 and the C-TD in the stability spectrum.

A lot of people have been talking about and throwing the CD2 this year. Simon and Eagle both have it bagged right now.

Proto and 2nd run CD2 = longer jolly launcher FD.

The 2nd run CD2's are fantastically straight with tons of glide and really good distance(For a speed 9 driver). I had to take one of my PD's out of the bag because I like this run so much.

We have had a lot of people let us know this exact information :)

2nd run is the current production and it is the best control driver available IMO. Just nuts, point and shoot, but at distance.

Yes, I agree. It's a very solid disc.

I throw 3rd run CFDs for reference.

The 1st run was a little more overstable than we originally intended.

I guess now that I just stocked up on a half dozen G Lines for a perfect winter bag, I'll take a GP1x to go with the rest...

But also an S Line too

Thanks for the insight and persistence. Rest assured we hear you :)

Well, we wouldn't like to spill all the beans but we have a feeling you'll probably like this disc.

I have an S DD2 that is giving me similar results as my favorite worlds in the practice field. I am looking for a disc to replace the kings that I do not bag (unless I plan on throwing rollers) for big tailwind D where I want a bit of turn over.

My questions:
How domey are P DD2? (I prefer a little flatter for max D rollers)
How much turn should I expect from a fresh(ish) P line, if I am getting a S-Line DD2 to flip up to flat, track right and finish 20-30' left of target?

If the P-DD2 is what I am looking for, I will likely replace my Worlds and Kings with the DD2.

The P-LINE DD2 should drift a bit more and finish not as hard. It sounds like you will like the P-DD2 for rollers or long tailwind shots like you were asking for. You could also try out the G-LINE DD2.

Yes, the P-LINE is less overstable than the S-LINE DD2.

I may pick a P line up (since I want a D roller anyway) and try to beat in my S line over the winter, or try to find an echo. Thanks for the imput.

I also need to find a newer run C-CD2, cause that may work into a good roller too.

Yeah, Simon and Eagle use the CD2 for that and long flex shots!

They do quite far similar to the P-LINE DD2 but they don't break in as fast.

We did have them on the Discmania Store around the Japan Open, but I believe they sold out pretty quick.

As for the monster stamps, I like the Jackal, Hysteria, Rush, and Chaos stamps.

The freak and craze stamps just never really did it for me.

I'm with you on these, minus the Chaos. Give us some more crazy animal stamps! ;)

Also, I am reading between the lines that the P-FD is closer to reality than fantasy. In which case :D :D :D

Flick Maniac 11-19-2015 02:13 AM

Aww man the Freak is the king of the monster stamps! It not only once or twice that I have though about getting it tattooed, but sadly I am a sissy. Also the Frenzy is very nice, it must be the flying hair that does it for me (even though it reminded some people of Michael Jackson :D)
