If people would take the well known precautions not only would we reduce infections and deaths but we would also reduce the likelihood of the virus mutating.

Despite our resident troll's objections, the religious whackjob strikes again. Is it wrong to want to throatpunch this knob??

As one of the virology or epi folks on Twitter said “we don’t have to worry about mutations coming from New Zealand”

I share the sentiment. It's wreckless endangerment.

In my world he'll always be Mike Seaver in an infinite time loop of 1988, and this present incarnation never existed :D

(CNN)Officials in Oregon say a "superspreader action" is likely behind two recent Covid-19 outbreaks in the state.

The action in question: A person knowingly went to work while sick and later tested positive for the virus, Douglas County officials said last week.

Two separate Covid-19 outbreaks have now been traced back to that person, officials said. Seven people died as a result of the first outbreak, and hundreds of people were forced to self-isolate over the second one.
Someone making his own decisions for his own health, no doubt.

Merry Christmas, Ohio!

The average of Friday and Saturday cases was about half of the three-week moving average of 9,848.

Deaths rose over the two days by 20, well below the average of 81. The virus has now killed 8,476 Ohioans.

An additional 168 Ohioans were hospitalized with COVID-19 by Saturday. That's less than half of the three-week average of 384, state data shows.

Admissions to intensive care units increased over the two days by 14, about a third of the three-week moving average of 41.
..and now the bad news. :(

The month of December has already seen records for COVID-19, now the third-leading cause of death in Ohio, just behind heart disease and cancer.
