I'm finding the Corvette to be very long. The distance isn't always easy to achieve, but its there. The disc has to be thrown hard. You aren't going to get easy high speed turn or a ton of glide. The...

boutique discs

I personally don't have a problem with special discs. Sometimes its fun to throw a nicer version of a certain mold.

Glow, metal flake, whatever. That boutique plastic is high quality stuff.

I like a flat Roc, which is probably why I gravitated toward the Roc3. In champion plastic its a really good workhorse mid with a neutral flight. The plastic doesn't beat in, and the disc's flight...

I don't know. I haven't seen or thrown any of the robot ones. Just the Raptors. I've thrown about 5 Raptors, and they've all flown the same. Very glidey and somewhat understable.

The Raptor...

I've probably thrown about the same amount of Destroyers since they were introduced a decade ago. Everything from proto stars to Wysocki Raptors. I've thrown 5 Raptors now, and I've found them less...

I bet you either don't stock the following models, or they sell poorly.....

Groove, Archon, Daedalus, Viking, Atlas, Teedevil, Colossus, Firestorm, Dominator, Ape, Krait, Monarch, Mystere....

Lightweight Raptor Destroyers

Thrown a couple lightweight Wysocki Raptor Destroyers now. A 158g and a 164g. Let me just say, for being so light, these things fly really well.

They have a little more turn than a heavier...

130g blizzard Katana

So, I had to take this disc to the field today. Its easily the lightest disc I've ever seen or thrown.

As expected, I couldn't make it fly. No amount of hyzer was enough. The disc would flip over...

Numbers are definitely arbitrary. Thunderbirds probably have a fade of 3. Most of the ones I've thrown fade pretty significantly. They don't turn at all either, unless you get a G* Thunderbird....

I never got into the Viking. I remember trying it YEARS ago (2004) and not liking it. Obviously I compared it to the Valk at the time, and the Viking was clunky and glideless.

The Thunderbird is...

I agree. Innova has such a glut of molds out. Any new player looking at Innova's lineup would be bewildered trying to figure out what to throw.

I think the Shryke and Tern are still fairly unique...

I never understood why Innova released the Savant in the first place. Its almost exactly like the Thunderbird.

Thunderbird: 9, 5, 0, 2
Savant: 9, 5, -1, 2

That's splitting hairs. Assuming the...

Sad thing is, I didn't think the Monarch had a terrible flight. Like I said, I thought it flew like a Beast. Problem was, it didn't glide very well and would end up well short of a Beast. The Monarch...

Don't expect to be impressed with the Monarch. It won't fly as far as you think it should.

I'm pretty sure the groove concept was created so Innova could make wide rimmed drivers weigh significantly less. This was right after the Boss came out, and Innova wasn't able to make lightweight...

I'll have to grab a Thunderbird and look carefully to see if they're really the same disc. I'm not overly concerned about it, just curious.

I guess that must mean Innova embosses the discs after...

The "Thundervant"

So, what's the exact story with this disc? I came by a "Thundervant" yesterday. I thought it was basically a Thunderbird with a Savant stamp. However, the disc itself is embossed "Savant". Does...

I didn't like the Monarch at all. Its a very worthy (crappy) little brother to the Groove. The Monarch flies something like a Beast X, but with far less glide and distance. It'll carve a decent...

I was pleasantly surprised with the Defy. It was definitely a little faster and longer than I expected. The disc holds up very well to hard rips. I wasn't seeing any unnecessary high speed turn...

I found a 130g blizz Katana yesterday. The thing actually floats in water.

Next time to the field I'll bring it. I think its going to be an abortion, but who knows. The disc looks and feels like...

Explorer

Quick Explorer update. I have 2 of these, a gold line and an opto. Threw the opto for the first time today. It was field work, so I basically had the Explorer (172g) up against a bunch of much faster...

Oh, I know. I didn't take anything seriously today. I hadn't thrown a Groove in a long time. I've seen everything with them. Some are super flippy, and others fly like Firebirds. The mold is a joke....

Defy

I threw a Defy for the first time today. Proton plastic, unknown weight (feels like 170+ though). Based on rim width I expected this disc to fly like a Wraith. It did, but faster and longer.

The...

Is the Groove really that bad?

Had another field session today. On a lark I decided to add a 172g champion Groove I found in a lake a couple weeks ago. I haven't thrown a Groove in several years, and I feel the general dislike for...

The XS wasn't overstable at all. If anything it was like a Valkyrie. Fairly unimpressive.

If you want overstable, look at the Reaper.
