I've run into a couple Shrykes that were stubbornly overstable. They don't glide, turn, or penetrate. For me they're useless. If I wanted that flight I'd choose a different mold. When I throw a...

Shrykes seem very weight dependent. By that I mean the lightweight ones will flip easily, and heavier ones usually won't. I'm guessing the pro 168g will be beefier than the 150s G*s.

Pro beats in...

I've only thrown 1 Raptor. Z, I forget the weight. No high speed turn. I could torque it over on an anny line, but thrown flat it would just hyzer out. The Raptor I have is a tad mellower than a...

G* Corvettes have more glide and turn than stars. They fly like a somewhat beat in Katana. Tons of glide.

I understand not liking G* plastic. I'm not wild about it myself. The G* Corvette is a...

Go for a star Katana in the high 160s. Those have been money for me. Just hope you get one with some dome.

If you really want to go nuclear, order a 170ish G* Corvette. The one I have outdoes any...

The D2 might be a little underrated. Like I said before, I've generally had OK experiences with them. It's a fairly reliable mold, though I have seen a little inconsistency from disc to disc.

All the Daedaluses I've been seeing lately are really domey. They don't turn a ton, and they glide great. They can be smashed for huge yardage.

IDK. I think I found a batch of more overstable Daedaluses. The ones I've been throwing lately (champion) have been really good.

Pink Hades

Back in the field with the (flippy) pink ESP Hades today. I threw this disc for the first time last week and found it almost unbearably flippy.

Today was a calmer day, so I figured I'd try it...

The Gator I used for this review was the first one I'd ever thrown. It is flat as a pancake. I've seen other Gators that seemed awkwardly domey. For an overstable mid/approach disc I want a flat top....

IMO, Feldberg Bosses are among the best flying wide rimmed drivers ever made. I fell in love with the Boss because of that run. Innova hasn't replicated it since. Most Bosses I've thrown since are...

Overstable and high glide don't really go hand in hand. That's why you seldom see overstable discs with high glide ratings. The disc can't really be floaty if it's spending the whole flight trying to...

If I had an Anvil, I would. That's one of the few molds I've never run across.

I probably won't ever throw a Harp in base plastic. All the mids I dabble in are good plastic. I don't like fooling around with discs that wear out quickly and lose their flight characteristics.

Of the 3, the Zone is the one I've had in the bag, and will continue to have in the bag. It works perfectly for all the shots I use it for.

I didn't notice the Gator feeling bulky.

I hadn't ever thrown a Harp until today. I ended up liking it a lot. Very steady performer. Overstable without being a total slab of beef. I was able to crank on the Harp hard and get nice, straight...

I have an old Ti Nuke that's copper colored. It's really a pretty disc, but it looks like an olympic bronze medal. You can't see it at all if its sitting in dead grass.

I've also seen some Ti...

Z Zone vs. VIP Harp vs. champion Gator

I decided to throw all 3 of these in the bag today for a round to see how they stack up against each other. My local course has plenty of short holes where overstable putter/mids work well off the...

Bad colors

OK, I found a disc that is a poor color choice. Dark brown lucid Trespass. The thing looks like mocha coffee. The disc itself is striking to look at, but damn near impossible to find anywhere you...

Has to be flashing. D2s don't have a bead. I've seen bad flashing on other Prodigy molds.

Most D2s I've seen aren't quite as flippy as a Trespass, but apparently it's possible.

Shrykes are generally a hair more understable than Katanas, but not always. For me, the Shryke is a more consistent mold overall. I haven't really seen any aberrant ones that flew poorly. Shrykes and...

Pink one is a tad domier. The two light blue Hades' have average domes. They aren't flat.

IDK. I guess I'll just write it off as mold inconsistency. The pink Hades is super flippy, though.

L64 Raketen might work for you. So should a star Shryke. Kings are just too damn finicky. Super long, but all over the place.

You should also take a long look at the MVP Catalyst and Relativity. ...

Proto Hades

I threw my 3rd proto ESP Hades today. This one is pink. No weight sticker, but it feels like 170+. My other two Hades' are light blue.

The pink Hades is WAAAAYYY flippier than the two blue ones....
