Yeah, the Sail is quite a bit flippier than a Heat. I think its made for guys who throw maybe a hair over 300'. Any more than that and the Sail will flip bad.

I didn't have a whole lot of luck...

The Sail is a LOT flippier. Domier and weirder feeling in the hand too.

I'd put the Sail at -5 high speed turn. It will burn into the ground with little effort. The Sail is a disc for soft finesse...

Blizzard discs are all over the place on stability, and it isn't just Bosses. I've definitely thrown some really beefy ones. I've also thrown some that were uselessly flippy.

A good blizz Boss is...

This isn't what mine looks like. Mine has the regular Crank SS logo, but says first run above it. I've seen other Discraft discs that were similar.

I have no clue how those prototype ones fly.

My Crank SS is a first run with a big dome and a super low parting line. I guess that explains why its so flippy. The disc definitely takes some finesse to keep flat.

Star Wraith is an obvious answer here. Its the same speed as a Thrasher, but definitely more stable-overstable. It glides well and does decently in wind.

I would say ESP Surge too, but they can be...

Best Thrasher I threw was a Big Z. Just a perfect disc. It would drift right a bit without getting too flippy. The Z Thrasher I threw just wanted to turn over into the ground on every throw.

Z...

G* Terns can be erratic and flippy, but they're super long. I still prefer star Terns. I think they're a little more consistent. However, the G* Tern definitely gets a nod for "easy distance". The...

Tough to say. I've thrown 2. One was massively beefy, and the other was almost flippy. Destroyers are so hard to pin down unless you actually throw them to figure out how they fly.

You can't even...

Yeah. I've messed around with throwing high before, but yesterday was the first time I was really impressed with any of it. I was able to throw the discs almost ridiculously high without having them...

Throwing fast drivers higher in the air

Yesterday while throwing in the field I experimented with throwing drivers on higher lines than I usually do. The results were surprising. Rather than ripping the disc flat and close to the ground...

The last Cannon I threw was ridiculously overstable and glideless. I was lucky to get 360' out of it. Disc just looked for the ground immediately.

I've thrown other Cannons that were way longer.

I find that flippy discs don't work well for sidearm shots. G* Shrykes are good out past 400', but you'll need a hyzer release to keep the disc from turning and burning.

If you want to sidearm a...

I've thrown 5 or 6 Sorcerers over the years. Every time I find one I think, "this is going to be the one". They all fly exactly the same for me. Really flippy, and somewhat glideless. I can hyzerflip...

Of all Westside's discs, the Queen would be the first to go if it were up to me. I've only thrown 1 Queen, and I hated it. Really fast, flippy, and not exceptionally long. For whatever reason the...

For real easy distance I like lightweight, flippy discs. Stuff like blizzard Bosses or Katanas. Also, star Terns and Shrykes will do the job. Right now I'd say my longest disc is a 160g star Tern. It...

Corvette

I put some more throws on the star Corvette today. First time I'd thrown in over 3 weeks.

I figure I threw the disc about 15-20 times. I'm starting to like this disc more than I did before. Its a...

First run Sidewinder. Oldie, and fairly rare. Valuable too.

Only disc I've seen with that stamp. Rim looks right too.

It 100% isn't a Groove.

I had a Z Flick in my bag a couple years ago that got flippy. I had to pull it. It wouldn't work properly for sidearms, and wanted to flip over and never come back. When I throw a Flick, I want that...

Nukes are actually fairly beefy. At 330' you shouldn't be seeing any turn out of a Nuke, and the disc will behave in a very overstable fashion. 330' is nowhere near enough arm to get high speed turn...

Once you start getting past 350' you'll notice the Daedalus start getting flippy.

The Shryke is less prone to flipping.

I probably have a dozen Sheriffs. All over the spectrum on stability. Lucid Sheriffs tend to do well on flat releases. I'll get turn on them, but they always come back.

I've bagged a 12X Teebird for a while. Nice, marbled (luster?) champion plastic. I think a 12X Teebird can be every bit as good as an 11X.

The mold itself is simply outstanding.

A star or champion Shryke will have that flight. If you want the heavier fade, get a champion. If you get a Shryke, get a domey one. Flat Shrykes tend to be somewhat glideless and much shorter than...
