Cedarock, UNC, Valley Springs are all pretty close to I-40/85 on your way to/thru the Triangle. Cedarock has Wellspring on the same site. UNC has 3 other courses nearby, some better than others.

I don't know about where you play, but there are plenty of holes I drive with my Aviar P&A. I don't start reaching for the Buzz or XL until 200 feet or thereabouts.
