Its got a beefier more rounded feel than the EL. I would say its more like a good straight TL

If you have a stable stable EL, the Patriot will work well as a less stable partner

Yeah I rock the Sparkle Rival and Pinnacle Patriot for almost everything. I have a more stable Pinnacle Rival and a flippy Icon Patriot that bookend the main combo.

Still keep my favorite QOLF...

So you ended up grabbing one? Good good. I love using my Pin Pat at courses like Roy G or Circle C because it can hold flat hyzers really well.

Yeah I got about 10 minutes of work in with mine against a couple Icons. The Pinnacle is much better at moving forward especially with more power. The Icon definitely has more side-to-side movement...
