Its a marketing ploy to dupe people into dropping $30 for a disc that usually costs $18. You're basically getting a Thunderbird with a Savant stamp.

This. Trilogy discs don't seem to beat worse than other brands, but they definitely do become understable faster. I'll use the Sheriff and Trespass as examples. Those two seem to get flippy fast. The...

This is the main reason I don't really delve into Trilogy discs. I actually like a lot of their molds, but their premium plastics aren't even half as durable as Discraft or Innova's. Even Trilogy's...

Dynamic

Tough to say whether Dynamic has peaked as a company. I'm a fairly casual player. I'm not sponsored by anyone, and I throw anything I want. I throw whichever discs I honestly feel are best for me on...

A Shryke or Thrasher will NOT need an anny release to achieve a distance line. Both of those discs are fairly fast, but they're also understable enough that they don't take a ton of arm to get up to...

I agree with this. No one can tell you how to play disc golf. Its pretty much a game of self discovery. Try all sorts of different discs and see what works. Besides, the same things don't always work...

I've only thrown 1 Savant, but for me it was slower and beefier than an Orc. Shorter too. If you want a less stable Orc, try a Beast X.

Try a champion Roc3. It won't be ridiculously overstable, but it sure as heck won't flip either. Discmania MD5 is another good option if you want legit beef.

I personally use a Lat64 Pain as an...

The worst Shryke I own is a Karina Nowles glow champion. The thing is super flat and doesn't glide very well. Its also really understable with a hooky fade. Of all my Shrykes is probably the worst...

DD3

I threw a DD3 for the first time today. S line 175g. Here are my thoughts:

Upon initial examination, this disc looks EXACTLY like a domey star Destroyer. Holding the 2 discs up side by side you...

I agree. I've thrown some absolutely RIDICULOUS Nukes. And these weren't Nuke OS's either.

Ti or FLX Z Nukes aren't even really throwable for distance.

Any wide rimmed driver is going to run...

I've thrown several Flicks, and never seen a really brutal one. For me a Flick will actually ride flat for a bit before fading hard.

I've found the Nuke OS to be WAAAAYYY more overstable than any...

This sentence is the key to the whole thing. Throw the slowest disc that will reach the distance you need. I learned this the hard way. I'd try to take too much off of fast drivers for shorter throws...

Every speed disc has a place, assuming you have the arm for them.

The OG poster seems to throw ridiculously far with slow drivers. He won't need to even bother with speed 13-14.

I personally...

Yeah, the Sail is quite a bit flippier than a Heat. I think its made for guys who throw maybe a hair over 300'. Any more than that and the Sail will flip bad.

The Sail is a LOT flippier. Domier and weirder feeling in the hand too.

I'd put the Sail at -5 high speed turn. It will burn into the ground with little effort. The Sail is a disc for soft finesse...

Blizzard discs are all over the place on stability, and it isn't just Bosses. I've definitely thrown some really beefy ones. I've also thrown some that were uselessly flippy.

A good blizz Boss is...

This isn't what mine looks like. Mine has the regular Crank SS logo, but says first run above it. I've seen other Discraft discs that were similar.

I have no clue how those prototype ones fly.

My Crank SS is a first run with a big dome and a super low parting line. I guess that explains why its so flippy. The disc definitely takes some finesse to keep flat.

Star Wraith is an obvious answer here. Its the same speed as a Thrasher, but definitely more stable-overstable. It glides well and does decently in wind.

I would say ESP Surge too, but they can be...

Best Thrasher I threw was a Big Z. Just a perfect disc. It would drift right a bit without getting too flippy. The Z Thrasher I threw just wanted to turn over into the ground on every throw.

G* Terns can be erratic and flippy, but they're super long. I still prefer star Terns. I think they're a little more consistent. However, the G* Tern definitely gets a nod for "easy distance". The...

Tough to say. I've thrown 2. One was massively beefy, and the other was almost flippy. Destroyers are so hard to pin down unless you actually throw them to figure out how they fly.

You can't even...
