Compass has more fade. Sling is straighter, and beats in to a nice slow turnover disc, whereas the compass I never really got one that became easy to hold on a slow turnover line.

My sample size is only two, stock star 171g right around when star was a new release practice: great for max distance for a long time, still awesome for distance...
