I agree. All of those are really finicky. They have a very small window of effective flight. Slightly underthrow them and they stall. Slightly overthrow them and they flip hard. You could probably...

I'll say pretty much the same thing about the blizz Katana as I did the blizz Boss. WILDLY inconsistent from disc to disc. Some blizzard plastic is nice and smooth, and some of it is really rough...

Yeah, the Sail is quite a bit flippier than a Heat. I think its made for guys who throw maybe a hair over 300'. Any more than that and the Sail will flip bad.

I didn't have a whole lot of luck...

The Sail is a LOT flippier. Domier and weirder feeling in the hand too.

I'd put the Sail at -5 high speed turn. It will burn into the ground with little effort. The Sail is a disc for soft finesse...

I got hit by a Valkyrie once. Guy who threw it couldn't see it, and I never saw it coming. He threw a blind tee shot over a hill. It hit me in the arm and didn't seriously hurt or cause any problems....

The Shryke seems to have a deeper rim. I agree the Tern is very shallow. So are the Katana and Vulcan.

IMO the Tern is the biggest "cheater" disc out there. Big dome and a super shallow rim. It...

Blizzard discs are all over the place on stability, and it isn't just Bosses. I've definitely thrown some really beefy ones. I've also thrown some that were uselessly flippy.

A good blizz Boss is...

This isn't what mine looks like. Mine has the regular Crank SS logo, but says first run above it. I've seen other Discraft discs that were similar.

I have no clue how those prototype ones fly.

The Sword is every bit of speed 12. It might not be as flat as a Tern, but it'll get downrange rapidly.

Obviously those ratings are subjective. I rate discs based on averages. I've thrown...

Yeah, about a half dozen of them, all VIP plastic. The Sword is a pretty good mold, very glidey and long. They can get erratically flippy at times. For me the Sword would sit right between a Thrasher...

My Crank SS is a first run with a big dome and a super low parting line. I guess that explains why its so flippy. The disc definitely takes some finesse to keep flat.

The one I have has a big dome and is ridiculously flippy. Getting it out to 380' would require a pretty steep hyzer release. I know Discraft drivers can be inconsistent in flight. I must just have an...

Star Wraith is an obvious answer here. Its the same speed as a Thrasher, but definitely more stable-overstable. It glides well and does decently in wind.

I would say ESP Surge too, but they can be...

Yeah. The Panic and Dimension fly almost exactly the same for me. Difference is, the Panic will hold the flat part of the flight longer before fading. My Dimension is fairly beefy. Its lightning...

Crank SS

Anyone actually throw this thing? I don't see any threads about it.

Anyway, I found a Z Crank SS in a lake last week (172g). Good looking disc. Nice dome. I guess I can't really say I had high...

Panic

I threw a Panic for the first time today. Neutron plastic. Unknown weight.

Based on what I read, I was expecting something very similar to MVP's Dimension. The Panic flew similar, but not exactly...

Best Thrasher I threw was a Big Z. Just a perfect disc. It would drift right a bit without getting too flippy. The Z Thrasher I threw just wanted to turn over into the ground on every throw.

Z...

G* Terns can be erratic and flippy, but they're super long. I still prefer star Terns. I think they're a little more consistent. However, the G* Tern definitely gets a nod for "easy distance". The...

Champion Roc 3. It'll start straight, and STAY straight. Champion plastic beats so much more slowly than Lucid, or any other plastic DD makes.

The Emac Truth has a super obnoxious habit of turning...

Tough to say. I've thrown 2. One was massively beefy, and the other was almost flippy. Destroyers are so hard to pin down unless you actually throw them to figure out how they fly.

You can't even...

I agree that having something to aim at makes a huge difference. You focus on your throw more and tend to have better mechanics. Going out and throwing wild, aimless bombs in a field can create bad...

Throwing fast drivers higher in the air

Yesterday while throwing in the field I experimented with throwing drivers on higher lines than I usually do. The results were surprising. Rather than ripping the disc flat and close to the ground...

Neither the Tern nor Thrasher are what I'd consider predictable. They can vary widely from disc to disc, and I'd never use either mold on a shot where accuracy was necessary.

For me the Tern is...

Tendinitis

Stuff like that takes a surprisingly long time to go away. Months. You'll have to scale down your disc golf quite a bit and let it heal.

Continue to use your arm for routine stuff, but lay off...
