I'd have to put Shrykes in my top 3 current longest molds. Those things will surprise you. Star and G* Shrykes are stunningly long. They're able to absorb a pretty big rip without totally flipping...

Sidewinders will easily handle 350' power without getting too flippy.

You'll know when its time to look for something beefier. If your flat or hyzer throws start turning too much and not coming...

I've enjoyed the Mayhem, what little I've thrown of it.

Stuff like the Relativity and Octane need to be thrown hard. The Relativity is all or nothing. If you don't get it turned, the disc stalls...

Looking for a Hades

I'd like to give this mold a try. Looking for something 170ish, but will go heavier. I just don't want anything super light. Obviously used is totally fine, I just don't want anything that's thrashed...

Here's my final observation of MVP drivers. They WILL give you good distance, but you'll have to earn it. I've never thrown any driver of theirs that was floaty or provided easy distance. I don't...

Out of sheer curiosity, what molds are you using to hit max distance consistently?

390' consistently is no joke. Most people will never throw that far. If I'm having a bad day that's about what I...

The quest for 500'

Things are progressing decently. I feel like the hot weather lately has aided my throwing. Good grip, my body feels loose, and the warmer air seems to help the disc stay airborne.

I've been...

I've been working on anny releases lately, and I've gotten better at doing it consistently. Some of it was mental, and I wasn't visualizing the process properly. I'd release the disc high, but not...

Yeah, I think its silly to randomly boot other brands' discs from your bag if they're still working. MVP doesn't make anything that's going to replace a Firebird.

I'd also have a hard time pulling...

Giant

Old thread, time for a quick Giant update.

I happened upon an air VIP Giant recently. I had never seen one before. this one is 154g.

The disc has a nice dome, and is somewhat gummy. The...

I'm finding the Corvette to be very long. The distance isn't always easy to achieve, but its there. The disc has to be thrown hard. You aren't going to get easy high speed turn or a ton of glide. The...

boutique discs

I personally don't have a problem with special discs. Sometimes its fun to throw a nicer version of a certain mold.

Glow, metal flake, whatever. That boutique plastic is high quality stuff.

I like a flat Roc, which is probably why I gravitated toward the Roc3. In champion plastic its a really good workhorse mid with a neutral flight. The plastic doesn't beat in, and the disc's flight...

I don't know. I haven't seen or thrown any of the robot ones. Just the Raptors. I've thrown about 5 Raptors, and they've all flown the same. Very glidey and somewhat understable.

The Raptor...

I've probably thrown about the same amount of Destroyers since they were introduced a decade ago. Everything from proto stars to Wysocki Raptors. I've thrown 5 Raptors now, and I've found them less...

Lightweight Raptor Destroyers

Thrown a couple lightweight Wysocki Raptor Destroyers now. A 158g and a 164g. Let me just say, for being so light, these things fly really well.

They have a little more turn than a heavier...

130g blizzard Katana

So, I had to take this disc to the field today. Its easily the lightest disc I've ever seen or thrown.

As expected, I couldn't make it fly. No amount of hyzer was enough. The disc would flip over...

Numbers are definitely arbitrary. Thunderbirds probably have a fade of 3. Most of the ones I've thrown fade pretty significantly. They don't turn at all either, unless you get a G* Thunderbird....

I never got into the Viking. I remember trying it YEARS ago (2004) and not liking it. Obviously I compared it to the Valk at the time, and the Viking was clunky and glideless.

The Thunderbird is...

I agree. Innova has such a glut of molds out. Any new player looking at Innova's lineup would be bewildered trying to figure out what to throw.

I think the Shryke and Tern are still fairly unique...

I never understood why Innova released the Savant in the first place. Its almost exactly like the Thunderbird.

Thunderbird: 9, 5, 0, 2
Savant: 9, 5, -1, 2

That's splitting hairs. Assuming the...

Sad thing is, I didn't think the Monarch had a terrible flight. Like I said, I thought it flew like a Beast. Problem was, it didn't glide very well and would end up well short of a Beast. The Monarch...

I'm pretty sure the groove concept was created so Innova could make wide rimmed drivers weigh significantly less. This was right after the Boss came out, and Innova wasn't able to make lightweight...
