Now I at least realize that a big part of the issue is probably that I clear the front shoulder out of the way to try to move it straight. Doesn't matter what angle my arm is in relation to my shoulder, I just spin out trying to move the disc straight. I've seen SW make the point of the curved path the disc takes in diagrams but never really understood it without the discussion in this thread.
