Default Mound design question

If you were to build a small earthen mound with cross ties or poles with which to raise a basket in a flat field, what shape would offer the most challenging design?

A roughly square, symmetrical "pyramid" (think Aztec style, not Egyptian) with the basket in the center?

Or have the basket off-center so that the pyramid more resembles steps, creating more of a drop-off, death putt effect since the side nearest the basket is flush instead of tiered? And what direction should the flush side face? Towards the approach shots? Opposite of approach shots (to punish over-approaches or come-backer putts)? Sort of angled in the direction of incoming RHBH hyzers?

Or any other ideas? Feel free to let fly.
