Default Ratings Question - Non-Current players

Question about ratings and propagators.

I understand that in order to be a propagator for a tournament round you have to be rated 800 or above. But here are a couple questions.

1.) Do only players who are current PDGA members count as propagators? I would also count those that renew the day of the tourney but what about players who have not yet renewed and may not for months (if ever).

2.) I saw posted that in order to be considered a propagator a player had to be rated 800 or better AND that rating based on a minimum number of rounds(at least 6 I think is what was posted). Is this accurate?

We had a sanctioned Ice Bowl and because it was early many have not yet renewed. We had about 50 current players who were rated over 800, so there were plenty of propagators. We had about another 20 players who were PDGA members but have not yet renewed(and did not at the event). In what time frame would they have to renew in order to get a rating for this event?

Probably a question for Chuck.

Thanks for all input !

I think everyone gets ratings if they are current or not. You just can't look up that info because you aren't current.

All players who have a rating at least 800 based on at least 8 rounds and with a PDGA number entered on the tournament report will be used as propagators regardless whether they are current. They also receive ratings for those rounds even though they won't be able to see them if they are not current. However, propagators who shoot more than 60 points below their rating are not used as props for that round so no one can artificially jack up the SSA whether intentional or just a really bad round.

Do TDs have access to ratings for non-current players?

Yes. TDs either get the ratings or maybe it's the minimum division non-current players may enter when they get their tourney info pack from PDGA I think on Thursdays before an event.

It's both a regionalized membership list with ratings for current and non-current members, and access to the online tournament manager for uploading pre-reg lists and unofficial results. There are now tools in that tournament manager that identify non-current members, players that are playing in a division for which their rating is too high, as well as whether players have passed the certified officials' test.

Where is this tool? I have found no such thing on the TD page.

The list is sent to TDs right before their event.
