Default Teflon target?

Another thread about the "Weirdest putt ever" made me think of this. Any of you ever encounter a target that seemed to be Teflon coated and you just could not make a disc stick? I had one of these yesterday.

My approach shot was around 50 feet out, going for par, and my Challenger ricochets off the top of the chain ring and keeps right on going about 25' straight out behind the target. Second putt skims across the outside edge of the basket, just brushing the chains, hits the ground on edge and proceeds to role down hill about 20 feet from the target. Putting for three now (and a double Bogie) I smack the side of the chain ring dead center and the disc falls striking the rim of the basket and tumbles out onto the ground below the basket.

p.s.; I actually made the drop in on my first attempt... but I was sweating it.

Sometimes, nothing seems to stay in the basket. It's just part of the game.

You must make a sacrifice to appease the DG gods.

I've had a few putts where I hit the the metal band on top of the basket and when they start rolling their actually further away than I was initially by the time they stop ....

That basket is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear, but it does think, and it thinks your putting is weaksauce.

Either that, or someone just set the chains too damned tight.

^^I've seen that video a couple of times now, and know he's demonstrating the effect, but I still get frustrated that he takes that many throws and doesn't try to adapt & float one into the basket. It reminds me of that old definition of insanity: continuing to do the same thing, while expecting a different result.

Sure, blame the equipment for poor putting skills. Whatever makes it easiest to accept.
