Great referral Discette!

Canyons may be the better overall course, certainly for multiple rounds/layouts... but Rogers Lakewood has an incredible variety of Hole Types for just a one-round experience

Hidden Lake DGC in Merrillville is on the way. It was one of the courses played for Pro Worlds 2013.

Both parks charge a small entry fee.
Would agree that Rogers is a terrific course and should not be missed if you are out that way.

While those are good suggestions, he said that he is looking for a course in Illinois.

How else can we afford to resurface all of our highways every three or so years?

One of my fondest memories of driving in Chicago. I was sitting on the Stevenson not moving at all and there was a digital sign saying "Trafic Normal".

Even living in Minnesota, my I-Pass has paid off, saving toll costs in 13 states from Illinois to the northeast as I travel for disc golf and family in Ohio.

KLM is the "best" on your route. I would seriously consider going a little out of your way to play the Canyons though. It is definitely the best course in the general vicinity of your route. I googled it for you and it adds 34 minutes to your total drive. (based on O'Hare to the city center of crown point since I dont know the exact location). Living in that area for 30+ years and having played both of these courses many many times, the extra time is worth it if you can swing it.

Also, I forgot to add, playing KLM adds 13 minutes to your drive. So going to the canyons actually only adds 21 minutes more to your drive than if you were to play KLM
