Best bad I’ve seen except when you took out the nova and teebirds. Everything else looks amazing.

I found the Teebird3's to be everything I wanted Teebirds to be. One is no fade and no turn to like 375'. And the lighter one I can push the hyzer-flip to about 400' under control.

I love Nova's don't get me wrong, but they have been bad to me in my last few tournaments. They're very deep for my hands and I haven't been getting clean releases. I'm using a beat P1x for the time being until I can get my hands on a DX Aviar3 (hopefully tomorrow) to start beating in.

The dog days of summer are here and I'm back for another bag update! The season is about halfway done and I have 3 MA1 victories with 8 other top 10 performances already this season. I've actually accrued 1800ish points and have qualified for 2019 Am Worlds! So I have moved to MPO for the rest of the year for practice. I've even taken home a 3rd place MPO finish as well. Rating is up to 950 and should keep climbing so I'm well on my way to 975!

Goals for this season:
  • Get to 975 rated.
  • Stay in the top 5 in MA1 all year.
  • Have 1500 points by June. (CHECK!)
  • Move to MPO for the rest of the season and cash at least 5 times (Not accepting though)
  • Throw at least 4 more 1000 rated rounds. (1 down!)

My Bag:
Not too much changing this time around. Plastic is beating in and hitting the slots I'm looking for. Macanas are back in for putting duties and I regret ever switching away from them!

Distance Drivers:
Star Destroyer - Fresh embossed McBeth Destroyer. Wind Fighter. Big hyzers and flexes. Hyzers to 420' and flexes to 450'.
Star Destroyer - Slightly beat up Destroyer. Longer flexes 450-460'.
Full Color Star Shryke - Freshest of my Shrykes. Suuuupperr long hyzers. 440-460'.
Star Shryke - Lazer straight Shryke. 450'-ish with not much lateral movement.
Star Shryke - Workhorse of the stars. Max distance golf lines. 460-480' lines.
Star Shryke - Oldest Shryke in the bag. Flippiest of my distance drivers. Air shots to 440-470'. Rollers to 500'.

Control and Fairway Drivers:
Champion Firebird - Overstable utility disc and forehand roller. 280-340'.
Star Thunderbird - Stable and Glidey. Sits in between the FB and T3's. 390-400'.
Champion Thunderbird - Workhorse of the fairways. A longer Teebird3. Shots to about 425'.
Star Teebird3 - Heavier of the 2. Has more HSS than the lighter one. Big hyzers. 350-380'.
Star Teebird3 - Dead straight with no fade to about 400'.
Star Leopard3 - Straight to turnovers. 330-400', depending on the line and type of course.

Mids:
Luster Champion Gator - Super beef. Big hyzers and flex flicks. 250-275'.
Champion RocX3 - Straight to fade workhorse mid. 265-290' hyzers.
2018 McGlow Roc3 X2 - Got a nice stack to new McGlows to work into the bag.
2017 McGlow Roc3 - Just so straight. Can push these 315' without lateral movement
2016 McPro Roc3 - Beat up McPros that is perfect for long turnovers that have just a sliver of stability left. One is significantly more beat up than the other. 280-310'.

Putters:
P-Line P1x X2 - Straight in the circle putter. Floats well and good for long spin putts for approaching.
DX AviarX3 - Overstable approaches inside of 275'. Windy putts.
D-Line P1x - Point and shoot to 285'. Big turnovers. Flick putts.[/QUOTE]

Heading into the final week of the season and it has been a long one! After the great start to the season, it's been a so-so finish. Combining a lot of birdies with a ton of misplayed bogey

Goals for this season:

  • Stay in the top 5 in MA1 all year. (Almost check, missed top 10 once)
  • Have 1500 points by June. (CHECK!)
  • Move to MPO for the rest of the season and cash at least 5 times (cashed 3 times but 2 tourneys this weekend!)
  • Throw at least 4 more 1000 rated rounds. (1 down! still this weekend...)

My Bag:

XXL Star Shryke - Lazer straight Shryke. 450'-ish with not much lateral movement.
XXL Star Shryke - Workhorse of the stars. Max distance golf lines. 460-480' lines.

Champion Firebird - Overstable utility disc and forehand roller. 280-350'.
S-PD - Stable and Glidey. Big hzyers and flat shots to 370'.
S-PD - Flippier PD. Straighter stable shots to 400'. Max out at 440'.
Star Savant - Fresh to the bag. Same lines as Teebird3 but better feel in the hand. 38-410'.
Star TL3 - Dead straight with no fade to about 400'.
Star Leopard3 - Straight to turnovers. 330-400', depending on the line and type of course.

Mids:
Whither's Glow Champion Gator - Super beef. Big hyzers and flex flicks. 250-300'.
Champion Roc3 - Straight to fade workhorse mid. 290-320.' hyzers.
2018 McGlow Roc3 X2 - Got a nice stack to new McGlows to work into the bag.
2017 McGlow Roc3 - Just so straight. Can push these 315' without lateral movement

Putters:
Zero Hard Macana X2 - Straight in the circle putter. Floats well and good for long spin putts for approaching.

With all the pro's moving from brand to brand, one thing is certain: Tour series plastic is not forever. With not knowing what will become of McPro Roc3's, I busted out my old Comets to start adjusting to just in case. The P1x also slides back into putting duties now that the cold will help them to mimic the Macana's flight.

The offseason is also here so it's time for some winter goals to be ready for an important year in 2019.

Goals for this off-season:
  • 250 putts a day. With work, can't always get to the course before dark, so putting practice becomes increasing more important.
  • Start working out again and drop 10 pounds to get to a more athletic 180lbs. I stopped lifting consistently after baseball career ended in 2016 and I've noticed a gradual decrease in strength and flexibility.
  • 2 mile+ runs a week. It's getting cold but this is a must. I can feel myself wearing down by the second round and this is leading to bad mental mistakes costing good rounds and great finishes.
  • Fieldwork once a week. I made big strides this year form and distance-wise and I don't want to sacrifice this over the winter.
  • Play at least 1 competitive round a week (Tourney/League/Dubs). Keeps the mind sharp and the competitive streak burning.

My Bag:
Winter is upon us which means starting new cycles and trying out to new molds to see if they make the cut.

Distance Drivers:
Star Xcal - Utility wind distance driver. Full power overhand shots.
Brinster Star Destroyer - Wind fighting Destroyer. Nice flat flight with big left finish and skip. Hyzers to 420' and flexes to 450'.
Star Destroyer - Slightly beat up Destroyer. Longer flexes 440-450'.
Star Destroyer - Flippiest Destroyer. Lowest LSS of the Destroyers. Straight shots 440-450'.
XXL Star Shryke - Max distance golf lines. 460-480' lines.
Pro Shryke - Roller disc. Max distance turnovers

Control and Fairway Drivers:
Champion Firebird - Overstable utility disc and forehand roller. 300-350'.
S-PD - Stable and Glidey. Big hzyers and flat shots to 390'.
S-PD - Flippier PD. Straighter stable shots to 400'. Max out at 440'.
Star Savant - Fresh to the bag. Same lines as Teebird3 but better feel in the hand. 380-410'.
Star TL3 - Flip up to flat to about 400'.
Star Leopard3 - Straight to turnovers. 330-400', depending on the line and type of course.

Mids:
Wither's Glow Champion Gator - Super beef. Big hyzers and flex flicks. 250-300'.
Glo ESP Wasp - Champ Roc3 was not reliably stable enough so added the Wasp in for longer hyzers. 290-320'
Champion Roc3 - Straight/Stable workhorse mid. 300-320'.
Glo ESP Comet - Flip up to flat mid shots. 300-300'.
Z Comet - Beat up. Just so straight. Can push this 330' without lateral movement or use it for slow turnovers.

Putters:
P-Line P1x X2 - Straight in the circle putter. Floats well and good for long spin putts for approaching.
BT Medium Harp - Overstable approaches inside of 275'. Windy putts.
Retro Macana - Point and shoot to 285'. Big turnovers. Flick putts.
XT Nova - DEAD STRAIGHT HEAVEN
XT Nova - Super beat up, short range turnovers

Only one change this time around but it's a significant one. I cleaned up the fairways, dumping the TL3, Savant, and PD's for a variety of Undertakers. McBeth fanboy or not, I'm mad I never threw these sooner. They range from fairly stable to flip up and drift and I couldn't be happier.

The offseason is also here so it's time for some winter goals to be ready for an important year in 2019.

Goals for this off-season:

Titanium Undertaker - One of the McBeth first runs. Stable and Glidey. Big hzyers and flat shots to 390'.
Z UndertakerD - Straighter stable shots to 400'. Max out at 440'.
ESP Undertaker x2 - Fresh to the bag. Same lines as Teebird3 but better feel in the hand. 380-410'.
Big Z Undertaker - Flip up to flat to about 400'. Long turnovers that fade.
Star Leopard3 - Straight to turnovers. 330-400', depending on the line and type of course.

Mids:

Well the season is upon us and it's been an.... interesting start so far. Through 4 sanctioned rounds, I've shot 889,900,889,1014. So I'm trending upwards? Don't play tournaments while sick with the flu everyone.

But it's time to get ready for Am Worlds and to take it down!

Goals for the 2019 season:
  • WIN AM WORLDS
  • 975 rating. Missed this goal last year.
  • 20 1000+ rated rounds this year. (1 down, 19 to go)
  • Cash in half of my events.
  • Continue to make progress in my physical fitness.

ESP Undertaker x2 - Long turnovers. Main driver in the woods, clean hyzerflips 390-420'.
Star Leopard3 - Straight to turnovers. 330-400', depending on the line and type of course.

Mids:
Wither's Glow Champion Gator - Super beef. Big hyzers and flex flicks. 250-300'.
Z Wasp - Champ Roc3 was not reliably stable enough so added the Wasp in for longer hyzers. 290-320'
Champion Roc3 - Straight/Stable workhorse mid. 300-320'.
CT JB Wasp x2 - Flip up to flat mid shots. 300-300'. Will probably replace Roc3 as they beat in.
Z Comet - Beat up. Just so straight. Can push this 330' without lateral movement or use it for slow turnovers.

Putters:
Retro Macana - Straight in the circle putter. Floats well and good for long spin putts for approaching.

Next event up for me is Am Worlds so I figured now is a good time to do an update on the bag! The season has been progressing pretty well with me cashing in most of my recent events. Drive distance is up and I've even remembered how to putt inside C1. If I could just figure out Circle 2...

  • WIN AM WORLDS
  • 975 rating. At 944 currently and should move closer to 950 in the next update.
  • 20 1000+ rated rounds this year. (2 down, 18 to go!)
  • Cash in half of my events. (On good pace for this one)
  • Continue to make progress in my physical fitness. (Down a few pounds, woohoo!)

Some cleaning up of molds and replacing some lost plastic.

Distance Drivers:

Z Undertaker - Straighter stable shots to 400'. Max out at 440'. Good for wooded shots that have to cover a lot of ground with a low ceiling.
ESP Undertaker - Slow flip ups. Main driver in the woods, clean hyzerflips 390-420'.
X Undertaker - Long turnovers that need to drift right for a long time. 400'.
Star Leopard3 - Short range, understable utility rollers and get outta trouble flicks.

Mids:
Wither's Glow Champion Gator - Super beef. Big hyzers and flex flicks. 280-320'.
Z Wasp - Stable workhorse mid. 300-340'.
CT JB Wasp - Straight/Stable workhorse mid. 310-350'.
CT JB Wasp - More beat up of the Wasps. Flip up to flat mid shots. 330-360'.
Z Comet - New and very domey. Very turn resistant for a Comet. Can throw dead straight high ceiling shots 350-360'.
Z Comet - Beat up. Just so straight. Can push this 380' without much lateral movement or use it for slow turnovers.

Putters:
Retro Macana - Straight in the circle putter. Floats well and good for long spin putts for approaching. Good stability from longer range.
Z McZone - Super stable approaches, mainly FH spikes up to 250'.
Jawbreaker Zone - Overstable approaches inside of 275'. Windy putts. Thrown hard BH will flip up and drift a little.
