The second option (if I have to choose between the two). I don't think enough players will want to commit an entire weekend to play 3 hours each day. I know I wouldn't.

Yep- unless the course is gigantic and grueling players are going to want 2 rounds a day. I am getting ready to run my first 1 round a day event this fall at Lake Marshall- course will be around 11000 feet with a ton of elevation so rounds are likely to be in the 5 hour range- we'll see how it goes.

^ 2 days makes sense for something like that.
