I have one of these in my bag now. They called them Star/Special blend and they're Rancho Rocs.

Would those be from the 'Night Shift' era?

I honestly don't know, sorry. They are beefy Rocs and fly great.

Those are the '06 USDGC Rocs that were mentioned before. Since they are double stamps it's hard to tell but there were "Star" and "Special Blend" Rocs that year and I honestly don't know the difference. The Tulsa Orcs were also labeled "Special Blend" and were also released in '06.

As for "'Night Shift' era" there really isn't such a thing. So far as I know there was a very small number of Night Shift Orcs made in late '04 or early '05 that were mostly given to team members as testers. They trickled out onto the market from there. That they were around was a mostly a rumor for about a year until the Tulsa Orcs and USDGC Special Blend discs were out in '06. By the end of '06 Star discs were in production. So far as I know those Orcs, some Sidewinders and the '06 USDGC Rocs were it for the "'Night Shift' era.

I think those are "Special Blend". I can make out the Throwback Stamp, but those were supposed to be on Champ discs so it's the other stamp that probably dictates what the plastic was. The ones I can make out that stamp on have the Hole 7 stamp, which was on the Special Blend discs so far as I know. The Star ones had the Baby Roc stamp and I think there was also a spectator Star Roc that year as well.

Not that it matters, I honestly think Star and Special Blend are the same thing anyway. Cool Rocs.

It has the right shade of blue for it to be special blend, but I have been throwing the white claws special blend for years now and the 2 that I have that started from brand new have never been super OS so I'm interested in this 06 star run you guys are talking about.

How flat are those? I’ve got a couple of the royal blue 01 remakes that are flat. Decently beefy but not as much as as the gummy day glow ones I’ve thrown.

I’ve always been of the understanding the 01 remakes were just leftover usdgc star roc stock that was “found in the warehouse” and stamped up to be sold through DGU.

These had a sticker on them from the Factory store that said "Star/Special Blend". A couple are flatter than the others but none have a lot of dome. They are beefy as hell Rocs. One is in my bag now.

They are the perfect dome. They are on the flatter side for rocs but they aren't flat and aren't domey. Just perfect. Compared to the, terribly named, 01 remakes they aren't as flat or as gummy as those things are but have the same amount of stability imo.
