I typically skip overly-verbose reviews.

If I'm in the market for a blender I don't want to read through amazon reviews where the buyer explains to me how supremely rich and frothy his brand-name shakes are now that he has the blender, nor do I want him to describe his old blender and share with me chronicles of his blending misadventures.

I want a quick and dirty account of what is good, what is bad, and small bits of pertinent information that could make my experience more enjoyable (gas stations, restaurants, a warning as to which shady areas of the park locals visit to exchange sexual favors).

Reviews are there for information and shouldn't be treated as a creating writing prompt.

But that's just my opinion.

More on topic, I feel that mashnut writes very useful reviews.

Untrue. Parody is protected from that

I hope nobody thinks any less of me if I say that I've never read a review that wasn't linked in some thread.

.
What about reviews that double as word searches?

And as such, we're still waiting to hear your actual thoughts on Nevin. We have plenty of bad courses in this area that need songs to serve as reviews (if you can't say anything nice....), but not Nevin. At least you didn't try to quote Never Surrender by Corey Hart. That would have led to unanimous

I had Ebin stuck in my head while I was playing Nevin. It was by far my favorite course in Charlotte and I thought my review still came across that way. My friend Nevin is a must play!

Renny is right next to the airport so it has jets flying over all the time, as does RL Smith. Again I had that song stuck in my head the whole round and was a bit mesmerized by some of the holes. Renny and the jets!

I'm surprised how many I got for those reviews.
