I love it when 870-rated players act like it's not a skill to throw a hyzer 400 feet.

Missed this one. Yes i agree but it seems hard to do it since not a single course ive seen demands this..

Apparently you're not paying attention.

What's your best score at Idlewild?

Lol.....the guy lives in Sweden. Having never played there, maybe courses are all wide open or poorly designed. He states he has not played a course that tests multiple skills.

I don’t know what you are watching, but the hyzerfest every hole is the rarity, not the norm. Lots of covered events this year that were on courses that succeeded in challenging players to use all their shots.

If it’s courses you play that are irritating you, Try to find some new courses. Of the 6 or so courses I play regularly, 2 could be hyzer Ed every hole by Simon lozotte, or other such pros. The others there just is no way that could be done.

I am curious to see if there are more open course designs in the future with mandos, "islands", or OB that force a landing area, turning an easy Par 3 into 4+. I'm sure it won't look great and people will complain, but I'm not sad about "forcing" people to throw specific shots specific distances, it's a great test of skill.

It's been said a bunch, we just don't have the land or the money to change the land to have a ton of Gold level challenging courses with great design, but we can take existing courses and add man-made obstacles to them to increase difficulty. I know, I know, it looks cheesy. Sometimes its done much better than others to look more natural, but IMO it's the easiest/cheapest way to accomplish that goal.

Im new the the sport. But i can say what has been the best part of finding disc golf is the freedom. I absolutely love standing on the teepad and throwing a backhand around a cluster of trees to see where it ends up (usually in the tree lol). Then trying a FH on the same hole. Then a thumber.

If i was told what i had to do on each hole, then it would take so much away from what i enjoy about this sport. Yes i hate watching the pros play courses where it is just hyzerbombs every hole. I think there are better solutions instead of adding rules to this simple game.

Here is a solution for this non existent problem:. Skills contests like other sports have at their all star games.

Skills contest is something that would be cool. Literal tunnel shots, some kind of series of hoops or something set up on a particular line, trick shots, trick putts. That’s not a bad idea
