Default xyman621 ITB

Experience: 8 years
Style: RHBH 90%, FH if necessary, thumber "for that one hole"

Decided to put together a bag. I like throwing multiples of the same disc with one having different stability. All thoughts/criticism/questions are welcome.

Drivers
171 Destroyer McBeth - OS, meaty, get to the left in any wind
171 Destroyer 2 line - workhorse, solid S lines, still has solid stability
170 Destroyer 3 line - beat up, flip to flat, flat to turn

Control Drivers
175 Firebird FAF - super OS, thumbers, fights any amount of headwind
175 Firebird Sexton Glow - not super beef but can count on a consistent OS line
173 Culverin Opto - newer, workhorse, small S line, will always fade generously, fights wind
175 Culverin Opto - getting beat up, workhorse S lines, still fades some
170 Sidewinder Star - super US, rollers, sky anny, flip to flat to turn

Fairway Drivers
174 Eagle CE - finishes w/ good fade (ol' reliable, never by water)
170 Eagle "twelve" - straight. slight turn slight fade
171 FD Cline - straight, more turn than "twelve", slight fade
175 FD 3rd Cline - more turn than FD, never fights back

Mids
177 Buzzz OS 1st - meaty, always fights the wind
175 Roc Dx - straight w/ some fade
175 Roc Dx - straight, more US than ^, holds the line
174 Buzzz ProD - veerry US, flip to flat

Putters
175 Pig - might as well be a brick
175 Wizard S - drives, finishes w/ solid fade
175 Aviar Yeti - beat up, US approaches
175 Wizard SSS puffy (x2) - putting ONLY

I tried organizing them by OS-->US in their lists.
I feel like I have some overlap in my bag. Eagle shots are covered but both hold value to me and can't be kicked out (yet). The sexton firebird is OS but might get kicked it out for an eagle that flies fairly similar. Culverins are a staple in the bag and what I get out for alot of shots. I really enjoy the feel and flight of them, just now starting to get the ones stability down so I brought the new one in recently.

IMO, you don't have much overlap. You may be able to trim a few as you've already noticed. I think I'm most surprised by your putters. Most that use wizards, only use wizards. Wouldn't take much to have a wizard in your US slot and maybe fill the OS with a scale. That could give your bottom end all the same feel.

Hmm I never really thought about that but its a good idea. I have a wizard that is beat up that could replace the yeti. Might have to.
I've had a pig in the bag for several years but I like the idea. Never tried a scale but you say it's similar in feel?

The scale is from RDG and they work very closely with Gateway. The scale's bottom half is the wizard bottom. The top has a thumbtack, take that into consideration, and is shared with several other discs; RDG serpent and Element's plutonium and iridium. Those all use Gateway bottoms as well; serpent = magic and the other two the warlock and voodoo. Sorry, TMI.

Nah thats good to know info. I've always loved the wizards Ive got from RDG but never looked into anything else they have. Definitely intrigued. Will do some more research on them but most likely will be trying one out soon.
Thanks!

I second the scale! Don't worry about the thumbtrack. Its very shallow and honestly not really noticeable.

ITB update. Retired Destroyers and Sexton for the time being. Lost/Sold/Traded others. Was using a D-BuzzzOS cycle with the ESP, going with the Sharks for now.

Predominately used Wizards for 9 years but they started feeling funny in the hand. Tried out the the Firm Envy and haven't looked back. Been using all this year, enjoy the shallow feel and grip. Seems to just keep penetrating forward on longer step/jump putts. But I'm sure that's just in my head.

BH is usage down 70%, much more comfortable with FH off the tee up to 300-325 and upshots

Drivers
171 Outlaw Pinn - newish and still very stable
175 Outlaw Icon - go to workhorse, s-lines
171 Tern Champ - flip to flat, holds turn, max D
168 Tern Star - beat up, flip to roller

Control
174 Fireball Proton - OS, does meathook things, Util.
175 Firebird Champ 11x - (same as Starfire)
175 Starfire Star - OS but not a hook, good for straight with solid finish
170 Valkyrie Star - workhorse s-lines
172 Valkyrie Star - US lines, rollers
172 Valkyrie Dx - quick flip rollers, Util.

Fairway
170 Clash Proton - stable, Eagle-esk some turn but good finish, great FH
174 River Frost - glidey, point and shoot, smooth out straight or slightly US/stable lines
172 Leopard CE - (same as River)

Mids
177 BuzzzOS ESP - OS lines but not too beefy
180 Shark3 Champ - stable line
172 Shark Pro - point and shoot, straight to slightly US
150 Shark Dx - (not always ITB) - US lines

Putters
175 Pig Pro - stable upshots, heavy headwind putts
174 Sonic Dx - upshots, warm up, try to play catch with the basket
172 Envy Plasma - stable off the tee, FH/BH does it all
172 Envy Firm - putting only

New year, new ITB. Changes:
  • Valks replaced with Starfires/SLs, go a hair further. Feel and fly better for me. Handle most distance duties
  • Outlaws kicked for Photons, still only used for that extra 50ft on starfires.
  • Back to the Buzzz family again.
  • Sonic~Polecat. Broke a couple sonics, similar line more durable.
Yeah I know I could eliminate the CE discs from my bag. Don't get used as much as they should but I play for fun and I like them. Good conversation pieces too.

Drivers
173 Neutron Photon - beefy driver
175 Neutron Photon - go to workhorse, slight tern s-lines
171 Tern Champ - flip to flat, holds turn, wide open max D, roller

Control
174 Fireball Proton - OS, does meathook things, Util.
175 Starfire Champ - OS lines, not as meaty
175 Starfire Star - S-lines, good for straight with an ok finish
171 Starfire Pro - more US S-lines
172 Starfire Pro - US lines, rollers

Fairway
174 Eagle CE - very stable, good FH
170 Eagle Champ - (CE Eagle around water)
172 Leopard CE - glidey, point and shoot, smooth out straight or slightly US/stable lines
174 River Frost - (CE Leopard around water)

Mids
175 Deflector Neutron - OS, very beefy
177 BuzzzOS ESP - OS lines but not too beefy
180 BuzzzOS JB - straight to OS
180 Buzzz ESP - point and shoot, straight
177 Buzzz JB - US lines, straight low power

Putters
175 Pig Pro - stable upshots, heavy wind putts
174 Polecat Champ - upshots, warm up, "Imma run it" shots
172 Envy Firm - putting only

Mid season ITB. Changes:
  • Putting putter switch from Envy to Maiden. Feels similar but with micro bead
  • Dropped the JB BuzzzOS and Deflector. Pig back in.
  • Chief in. Got a custom stamp made, flies like a shorter buzzz. Flat top, very tasty.
  • Sonic back in, Polecat out. Picked up abunch thanks to Gurthie.
  • CE Eagle broke, Clash replaced it.
  • Pro Starfire dropped.
  • Wrath in over the Champ Starfire. Just like it more.
  • Photon dropped for Kong. Penetrates forward better on hyzers.
