Default Understable complement to DD Escape

Hey guys

I love throwing escapes of all kinds and am looking for a mold that is similar in speed but somewhat less stable for easier turnovers.

I have a saint and northman but the northman feels kinda strange and the saint is brand new and isn't turning at all yet. I'm not sure if the saint will ever get as understable and I'm looking for. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

Also, I'm looking for something in production I can buy replacements of.

Thanks!

Well, a Fury is an understable Saint, so that'd probably work out.

I find the Fury to be closer to a Lucid escape than a compliment. Not identical mind you I prefer the escape but stability wise it's not far off. I have two escape as fairways, one bio buzion one lucid. I compliment them with a Recycled River and VIP Underworld. Straight to big anny turnovers. So....my answer is the underworld. It's fliptastic and bombs on the right lines.

Do you find that going from the escape to the underworld is a big difference in speed? How much power do you need to get it to fly with the intended turnover line? I'm looking to throw the escapes at 80-85% and the complement in that power range as well

Similar speed. I think the underworld is labeled a seven but it's similar to the rim of an escape to me. You can probably find the specs for both on the PDGA but I think you'll find they feel similar in the hand. Not much power at all for a turnover shot. I think the numbers are 7 6 -3 1 I would say it's closer to speed 8 or 9 but the rest is right on. Thrown flat I can get mine to turn and hold it all the way to the end. Usually I throw it on a hyzer and let it flip up flat and then turn slowly. It may fade out a tiny bit at the end. That's a heavier VIP plastic one though. My backups are 168-170 and in the tournament (gold line) plastic. I think they turn even more and glide more. There is an underworld specific thread somewhere in the first couple pages of here I think. If you find it it's worth a read. Could be just the disc you're looking for.

Distance-wise I'd go for a Sidewinder. Escapes straight up bomb.

Love to the Underworld, dependable less stable workhorse.

FWIW, I find the river too slow to be the understable alternative to what I do with the escape.

Thanks for the suggestions so far

Are you wanting brand-specific? If not, the Innova suggestions of the Sidewinder or Roadrunner are pretty spot-on. If you are looking Swedish, maybe a Vision? I know they vary quite a bit, though. A Discmania TD2 may even be something to explore.
