Default Rebuilding

Hey there! Finally getting back in to disc golf again. Lost some discs today to some water. Need to rebuild.

Lost my 2 dx valkyries. I dug them early on, but as time went on, I was turning them over and they were reluctant to come back.

Vitals:
Years playing/experience: started 19 years ago, with a shark and a putter. Never got serious. Years in between with no golfing. Now, 3 weeks in again.
Right/left-handed/ambidextrous: right-handed
Throwing Style: RHBH, FH, OH, occasionaly thumber
Golf Distance (avg/max*) for putter/mid/driver: whale 160-180; Buzzz: 250/280'; Teebird: 300ish

Age: 34
Sex: M
Injuries/handicaps?: Frolfer's elbow
What do you like/dislike about your current bag?: Can't seem to cover all the shots I need on the course
Specific areas of desired feedback: Still working on consistency in drive, 3/5 shots do pretty much what I want them to.

Bag:

Drivers
172 Pro Wraith, only thrown a couple of times. Fun for open bombs.
175 Glow Teebird
(166 Dx valks, initially used for turn to fade, but they/I stopped coming back early.

Mids:
179 Ti Buzzz, general midrange duties
179 Z Buzzz SS, rarely used yet, getting used to regular buzzz still

Putters:
175 DX whale
170 Dx whale

Trying to keep it simple, but need some variation in drivers (thinking firebird, maybe leopard or sidewinder). Don't know if I want another mid.

Appreciate any help.

Grab two dx and a star valk. The glow teebird prolly flies pretty stable even in a headwind. Prolly dont need any super OS like a firebird.

Edit::

Glow dx or champ? Maybe grab a champ teebird for headwinds if its glow dx.

So, stick with the valk? Star valk could be cool.

I like the idea of the champ teebird too (mine is a glow dx, getting pretty beat too).

My initial idea was that a valk and a teebird had me covered pretty well, maybe I'll just stick with it.

Any other ideas out there?

I could easily throw with your bag, but I would have to add a;
Suspect
Comet
Patriot
and a Roadrunner.

Star Valk's are great! Get a Pro too!

The 2 valks I lost were 166.

Everything else I throw (mid/driver) is at least 172.

How does a lighter valkyrie fly vs a heavier one? I was having issues with it turning and never coming back.

(also, Didn't notice I didn't clear out all of the template on my initial post/cannot edit it...I don't have frolfers elbow and am not having trouble with covering shots on courses haha)

Any other discs out there comparable to the valk? Tempted to try another company as I've only ever thrown innova and discraft. lat64 fury? Hatchet?

you could try an Escape. The Escape bumped the Valk out of my bag.

Ended up with a tournament plastic Hatchet and a pro valk today. Hatchet is basically a star valkyrie apparently.

A guy I met today was throwing an escape. I've read that Hatchets are like beat in escapes.

So far, my throws have only turned over on the pro valkyrie. Not doing great with the Hatchet yet. Decent distance, but fading earlier than the pro valkyrie. More than likely me, not the discs.

Went 174 for the weight.

Also, threw a roc today instead of the buzzzes. I missed the buzzzes.

Probably add a champ teebird and call it good for a while. Unless anyone has anymore suggestions.

Drivers:
172 Pro Wraith (getting best distance with this one)
175 Glow Teebird
174 Hatchet
175 Pro Valkyrie

Mids:
179 Ti Buzzz, general midrange duties
179 Z Buzzz SS, rarely used yet, getting used to regular buzzz still
175 Glow roc (Didn't mind the roc, may leave it in for a water disc haha)

Putters:
175 DX whale
170 Dx whale

I am in exactly the same boat as you. I played pretty often with friends in the 90s, but stopped for 15 years or so. Recently rediscovered and have been playing and rebuilding my bag and game ever since.

My $0.02 on your bag is to get something more understable.

I went into two of our local shops here in Charlotte and added a couple to my arsenal. Feels good to be back out playing again. Now if this rain will let up a bit.

Vitals:
Approx. 4 years experience in the 90's, about a month back in here lately
Right-handed
RHBH, some RHFH
Avg. Golf Distance for putter/mid/driver: Dont throw my putter for distance. Probably 200+- midrange, 270+- driver

Optional:
Age: 48
Sex: M
What do you like/dislike about your current bag?: pretty happy for now, trying to break in new discs
Specific areas of desired feedback: All feedback welcome.
Immediate and long-term goals: My putting sucks. Driving is hit or miss. Midrange has been the strong suit.

Bag:
Drivers (weight/plastic/model/(condition)/use):
175 Beast DX - new addition. Tried to add a couple of distance drivers since I basically didnt have one back in the day. This and the Valk fade right a bit.
175 Valk Champion - new to me, bought used. Probably too similar to the Beast. Will likely end up keeping one in the bag and the other as backup
173 Thief Lucid - new addition. Probably had the most luck with this, flies straightest. Stuck one at the pole the other day at RenSke 15 on a RHFH
175 Archangel DX - new addition. Got this one to try to turn right on RHBH throws. Still working on it.

Mids:
170 Shark DX - beat. These two mids are holdovers from the 90s and very trustworthy approach discs or fairway drivers. Shark goes left, Cobra goes right.
167 Cobra DX - beat. See above.

Putters:
173 Aviar DX - beat. I honestly can't putt for sh*t with this or the Magnet.

Bench:
140 Gazelle DX - beat - Gifting to my son to start him out (age 7)
149 Classic Roc - beat - " " " " "
174 Shark DX - beat, backup
180 Cobra DX - beat, backup
174 Magnet Pro D - beat, putter backup

Best to start your own in the bag thread instead of hijacking the OP's.

Default OK...

Wow grotto, maybe I'll do that. Wasnt trying to "hijack" anything, just happy to see someone else in the same boat I'm in and commented accordingly. Didnt mean to chafe you by not following some unwritten rule. Catch you before your morning coffee?
