Is this ever done?
I have a couple of clear discs that are hard to find in the bush. So I thought a simple coloring dye (red/orange) would make them easier to see, so my first thought was to dye the underside of the flight plate. Seems like it would make any pearly in the flight plate look even better ... Advice ... ? Sponsored Links

What i do is heat up your dye not to hot mind you so you dont warp the flight plate if your worried you can vinyl over the top flight plate but alls you gotta do is pour your dye from the pan into the disc the slower the better and stop as soon as your flight plate is covered

I use a cake pan half full of water on the stove, and float the disc in it as i would for a top dye. Add your dye from a squeeze bottle, just enough to cover the stencil. After appropriate time, use paper towl to soak up the dye to avoid any qhost drips around the edge when you dump it out.
Alternatively, I have cut the stencil into a funnel on one side to dump the dye back into my mason jar. |

I just tried doing this with a red MVP Eclipse Axis. Unfortunately, the dye brand sold at the local craft store didn't work at all. So, I just ordered a pack of Black iDye Poly online. I really hope this works. I think the clear black flight plate combined with the white outer molding and lettering is gonna look sweeet!
