Umm, unemployed / underemployed members post even more than killing time at work members. Therefore, I expect your post rate to increase and possibly go in a funky direction.
Besides, as ODRB only posts his bag thread here and that alone needs at least a weekly check.

congrats! I'm in a similar line of work but due to personal choices in organizations I've been employed by, I'll probably be driving Uber when I'm in my 80's instead of being retired. good on you! enjoy and get better at this weird game.....

Welcome to the club younger (and more talented) Brother! "Me-time" is a great motivator to reset the compass. Enjoy the journey.

Here's to hoping that from now on your most pressing decision is "What's for lunch". And your busiest day is because of an extra round on your favorite course.

I'm approaching retirement age.
My plan is that when I retire, the question won't be "What now?" but "What next?"
Instead doing what I have to do, retire to doing what I want to do.
Life's too short to quit.
Enjoy your new life!!

After I retired 5 years ago a funny thing happened. I started to play disc golf. Really got into it, sometimes playing 4 or 5 rounds a week. I watched a lot of videos and practiced a lot at the local soccer field. But my home course was 40 minutes away so I made my own temp course with laundry baskets hung from trees in the city property behind my house. Worked great until the city stopped mowing it, so I bought a piece of land in the country with my savings and built my own courses. So now I spend most of my free time building and fixing things on the course and not enough time playing. But you know what? I enjoy every second of it and wouldn't change a thing.

Congratulations on your retirement. Enjoy your newfound freedom and wherever it might take you.

I will complete my 12th year of retirement the end of July. I had 33.5 years in with my company that was bought out by another company. I didn't discover disc golf until 5 years ago or so. I only live about 4 miles from a 18 hole course and I try to play almost every day that weather permits. I've been slowed down the last couple of months due to back/muscle issues but am trying to get back in the groove.

I wish you the very best in your retirement. I always say that "the pay isn't the best but the hours are great."
