Could it be possible that Casey is thinking about the Beast and not the Wraith? Could the champ disc with a pro signature be a Barry Schultz Beast? Inquiring minds wanna know....

If they come out of an X mold, we call them X...problem solved. How they form afterward is irrelevant, and quite frankly a different issue in the consistency problems with Innova.

More so in the 2010's then with the 2000's as in the 2000's it was only a mold or two that had some inconsistencies with a run or plastic. Yeah some molds ran with different dome heights from Innova factories but then so did other brands have dome height problems as well with some molds and that is a problem since the beginning when the first true disc golf discs to have dome were made.

So in the alternate universe where they never switched the mold name to Teerex, the the classic Wraith mold would be the L version. |

But then the Teerex Became a true 12 speed disc later and has now changed to thee Xcalibur the closest mold to the old speed 12 Teerex and seems to be almost the same numbers flight wise. My dad had the later Teerex but early runs of Speed 12. My dad felt even though his Teerex discs have flight numbers on them as some late 2000's discs had flight numbers that the mold was a speed 11, as his only went as far as a Wraith for him. I tend to agree that the Teerex mold got overspeeded kind of how a few of the 3 top discs get a unnecessary higher number just to make more $$$.

The Teerex is NOT the Xcaliber. Never name changed, they're simply different discs. Yes the Teerex did change molds a few times (four variations IIRC?) - exactly zero of those variations are an Xcal. Source: used to bag Teerex's for years, currently tourney bag Xcals and have carried them for years now (unnecessary in my smaller bag). |
