Default A freshly minted minimalist

Hey dudes,

Thinking it might be time to face the music and start doing things the right way. I've done away with the idea of "doing what works" and have decided to walk the one true path of Minimalism™.

Here's what I'm working with:

Putters:

I've picked up a stack of PWP Wizards and intend to bend these to do it all - 60 foot jumpers? Covered. FH ups? Just need to work on my finesse, covered. Touchy neutral approaches? Wizards start pretty beefy but within a year or four I should have a nice smooth turnover on my hands.

Mids:

Going with the ol' minimalist standby - KC Rocs. Stable midrange shots? Gottem in spades. Straight shots? Well, maybe if I just put a little stink on I can keep them straight. Shot shaping hyzer flips in the woods? Eh, I'll just play wider open courses.

Fairways:

Star Eagle-Xs baby, give 'em to me by the stack. These things do it all - sweeping backhand hyzers, hyzer forehands... thumbers... Wait, am I allowed to bag an Eagle-L or will that draw the disdain of the council?

Distance drivers:

Skip 'em, how am I going to win a minimalist pissing contest by bagging a bunch of different classes of discs?

It's worth it, I did it for over a year. I learned a lot and Rocs and Eagles are still in my bag.

My minimalist bag is;
2 Star Eagle-X
2 DX Cheetah
3 Rocs (2 dx, 1 KC)
2 Yeti Aviars

Newer and beat in discs, and I back hand and forehand them all.

It's fun playing with less

Whichever way you choose and works for you is the right way.

Eagle L is just a "pre worn" eagle X, so go for it. I'd suggest to scour the marketplace and local used bins to fill out the "beat in" versions of discs you want to carry. I've never had a problem finding stuff to fill the cycles that way if when I switch molds.

The only hard part might be finding used rocs in some of those bins. Used rocs are more valuable then new ones imo so you might just have to try to play some one disc rounds on a wooded course to beat up your rocs. Or just take them to a parking lot and chuck them onto the pavement.

Not sure. Everyone should go play their local course with that bag of 6 discs though.

I bag more than six discs but in a typical round for me, I will only throw A Patriot, Comet, Hunter (Driving and Approach only) and a Swan 1. Then I putt with either a Hunter (Putting only- not as broke in as the other) for 25'+ putts or (since a week ago) a Luna. So I am pretty much already am on board to this approach. I know what I can do with each disc and to use the Legacy motto I play with confidence, even if my scores don't show it.

You should try a Condor.

Drive, approach, and putt; a Condor is a disc for every occasion.

Don't even bother bagging backups.
